Why go to 37's? I just regeared to 4.56's. 35's should be about right? :notsure:

The mounting plates. One on passenger and 2 on drivers side... He said he thought the welds werent hot enough. :notsure:

And tires are expensive for this broke dude. Hell Ramen is almost too expensive right now...

    4.56s are fine for 37s.

Im running 35s on my 4.56 gearing and it's super low.

So here is the 4 Treadwright Tires currently on my truck after somewhere around 25,000 miles on them... Keep in mind i couldnt rotate tires for almost 10,000 miles due to 2 bent rims.

So this weekend as you most already know, my truck took a hard hit.

Thanks Gabe (gelo760) for the use of a spare tire.

This is where the coil bucket hit the fenderwell.

    photobucket-30424-1350256360254_b97e54b91b32dd68ec39678c42ac7827b91fad3d.jpg

Crumpled some sheet metal in the fender well as well.

Core supports were already cracked but they are worse now.

Both inner rack & pinion seals were blown. We were looking for power steering fluid leaking and couldnt find it then saw the boots were swollen. Then the boots shoved the fluid back out of the resi.

Luckily the tie rod ends dont look bent.

you sure it wasnt an IED? damn man, those spindles held up for sure! Steering rack is definitely one of the weakest parts of our truck, but to upgrade is so fucking expensive. Are you gonna buy an autozone rack?

    you have a few options:

    A) Get an Autozone rack with lifetime warranty for like $200 but it's still gonna explode

    B) Upgrade to a Howe rack but be prepared to drop around $5K:
    http://www.howeperformance.com/desert_racing.htm

    C) Maybe look into Ford Raptor racks since i've never heard of them exploding, but not sure if it's the same length, or else you may have bump steer

Yeah... That is the only thing I can see that would have made that mark and the coil bucket has marks to match...

So I just called Howe performance. Nothing to be dont on Tacoma's until you re-locate the rack and the gear box and you are looking at $10K just for steering.

He said just buy a warrantied reman rack from the local parts store.

HOLY SHIT!!! Yeah I heard the best thing to do is to just by a remanufactured rack unless ya got an ass-load of money.
