    2016 DBL cab TRD Off-Road
    Hi tacomaworld,

After much resistance, my wife finally talked me into ending my chain of beater dd cars with something new. I just picked up a 2016 TRD Offroad with a double cab and 6MT. So far, i am absolutely loving it! here are my impressions of the new rig so far

    The good:
~SAVE THE MANUALS!!! (I think all torque converters should be brutally tortured and destroyed)
~Will live forever. (as proven by the countless examples the news has shown me in war battered countries all over the world)
    ~surprisingly fun to drive
~Can haul my sports cars and motorcycles without breaking a sweat
~Interior space and comfort that the wife wants for our family
~Just found out how seriously capable offroad it is

    The bad:
~gas mileage (I know it is a truck. I will get used to it. I am just used to cars like my 2010 TDi sportwagen)
~sucks at stopping in the snow. (I will fix that with snow tires next year)
~Strange dips in the torque curve. I would love to hash it out with the powertrain engineering group at Toyota to figure out why the hell they ruined the torque curve with their tuning. The engine is a beautiful piece of hardware that has been strangled (likely by emissions requirements) to be less than it was optimally designed for.

Anyways, i look forward to learning more about my new truck from this forum. I will be sure to share my adventures and modifications with this beautiful rig.

    Cheers,
    Jared

Only at ~350 miles and took it to the beach for sand play:
