using google maps (built in entune doesn't work too great), changing songs from my phone, adding that song i just heard to a playlist so i dont lose it, seeing the 5 one word texts someone sends me since entune only shows most recent, seeing messages on fb messenger, other stupid unsafe stuff.

with that said, i also put my hone in the cupholder to the left of the shifter, but have a DMM waiting to be installed.

My solution to use the Taco Garage wasn't geared towards being able to put my phone there, but rather I wanted a clean and easy way to mount my GPS, handhelds, etc. The fact that I can put my phone there was nice and I've found that when I get in to my 4Runner that doesn't have a mount there, I go nuts. I also hate taking up a cup holder for something other that a drink.

Driving on shitty European roads for a year and the damn thing fell off all the time. Tossed it out the window in a rage last summer.

I received and installed my TacoRail from 67d today. Great product. Really nice machined parts. Haven’t used it in any situation other than the driveway yet though.
One kinda major issue. If you want the rail centered over the radio, your right hand screw will directly conflict with a trim support post underneath. If you slide it closer to the driver, the rail becomes too thick for trim piece making the dash bump into the rail when reinstalled.
My only solution was to re-drill the holes...c’mon guys. Nobody noticed this? How’s a guy supposed to tighten nuts on the back of a bolt that goes directly into or very close to a support bracket. Especially when it’s not even necessary to have that tolerance issue.

The screw hole on the right runs directly into the support post for the trim piece - if you choose to center the rail over the radio (the most logical place for it).
