Was changing my oil and while underneath my truck, i noticed the passenger side ball joint had a small nick in the rubber boot(pics included). I had previously replaced both passenger and driver side LBJ’s at the dealership with the re-call roughly 5 years/50,000 miles ago. I’ve got new oem LBJS ordered online this morning on the way, but was wondering just how sketchy it may be to drive my taco while waiting for them to come in the mail, or that is a terribly stupid idea? I checked both sides for any play or clunking in the LBJS and didn't find anything. I have no idea if the little nick was recent or how long it’s been there, other boot is fine.
It may be worth noting the front struts are very worn out, and i’ll be replacing them at the same time i do the LBJS, but maybe the excessive bouncy front end led to more wear on boot?

Looks like it’s been that way for a minute. Check for play and if you have a needle tip for the grease gun, give it a hit. I imagine your parts order will be there shortly so… hopefully new bolts as well
    :fingerscrossed:

Quick update; Thanks for the replies! I did a more thorough check with the tires in the air and with a crow bar under the LBJ…the passenger side in question did indeed have a small bit of play in it, enough for me to let it sit in the garage till new parts arrive, ordered new bolts as well! Thanks again tacoma world.
