 Glad we could get it all buttoned up to finish off the trip!

I think there needed to be a few more supervisors for this to be a proper roadside repair.

I hope that after you break it enough that's not the case.

I'm getting tired of fixing stuff.

Brett and I were looking at it last night and that is exactly where we came up with to put them. But I will still look at his set up.

Well it is about freaking time i post my pics from @Wishbone Runner , @Squeaky Penguin and @Reh5108 and my trip from the beginning of may.

So Thursday night Brett and I took off from Steamboat to meet James west of Green river for the night. Let it be know it was snowing all week in Steamboat and hadn't broke 40* all week. Brett and I rolled in around 11:30 and James and his wife rolled in around 1. Still on my work schedule I woke up nice and early.

    20180504_065057.jpg
James, Brett and I headed for sand hallow, which is out side of Hurrican, to mess around for the day before we met up with Ryan at toquerville falls. While at Sand Hallow we almost witnessed a brand new jeep flop, but didn't get any pics of it. We also found an awsome obstacle. Brett and I opted out of it but James just had to try it.

    20180504_160041.jpg
    20180504_160255.jpg

So we spent the night at Torquerville falls Friday night and Ryan rolled in around 8:30 but we could hear him about 10 minutes before he got there. Saturday we headed to toroweap overlook and then to Whitmore canyon to camp. At Whitmore canyon we hiked down to the river to swim and to get out of the sun. It was pretty cool hanging out on sand bar in the middle of the Colorado river.

    Toroweap

On Sunday we headed for Las Vegas and Lake Mead. This is the day that I broke my cam gusset and destroyed a tire. No pics. This was probably the worst night of sleep I have ever had in my life. It was 112* in Vegas and around 85* at night.

    20180507_084554.jpg

Monday we leave the worst camp spot ever to go check out the hover dam and then to Diamond Creek to camp at the end. Diamond Creek is the only road that you can drive to the bottom of the grand canyon. I would have got some pictures but I was dying of heat at this point. Brett and Ryan made a pretty awsome sand bench while we were down at the river.

Tuesday we left Diamond Creek to head for Havasupai point. Ryan left our group early that morning so he could get back home for work on wensday. We attempted to take mostly only dirt to get to Havasupai but we ran into an issue with a huge ranch and if there was public through access on it.

    20180508_201640.jpg
    20180508_202716.jpg

    Wensday we headed to Sedona.
    20180509_130142.jpg
When we got to Flagstaff we were filling up and I found alignment cam was flipped upside down and my gusset was about fall of. So we did a temp fix on my alignment and found an upper ball joint was completely f@@ked and had to be fixed. Brett and I headed to an aquantance of his house, in Sedona, to fix the ball joint. James had a hotel booked for that night. So we all met back up Thursday morning for Breakfast and then hit broken arrow and soldier paas. Those trails were not technical at all but we're still fun for veiws.

    20180510_112200.jpg
    20180510_113503.jpg
    20180510_133933.jpg
    20180510_151432.jpg
So after the trails were completed we booked back up to Flagstaff to visit @snowsk8air2 so he could weld my cam tab gusset back together. After that ordeal was done we went to find a camp spot in cender monument per Ryan's advice.

Friday we headed down to Jerome to check out an old mine, hit smiley trail and check out Jerome. Before we took off for Jerome we stopped at discount tire so I could get reliable spare for the rest of the trip. When we got to the trail head of smiley we saw a giant cloud of smoke, which happened to be the start of a wildfire. Once again the trail was not to challenging but was still interesting. When attempting an alternative line I found that I dented the shit out of my driveshaft at some point during the trip, not sure how or when I did it.
    20180515_192057.jpg
It is now square in one spot. When we reached the end of the trail we ran into a wildfire firefighter and ended up talking to him about the fire that had started earlier and about his job. That night we had dinner in Jerome and then camped back in cender monument to help take some miles off our trip to Utah.

    20180511_133419.jpg

So Saturday morning we pack up and go to the store to get dinner for the night and some caffeine because by this point my I am exhausted and could sleep for a day. As we are headed to an awsome camp spot we stop at the famous monument valley shot from Forest Gump.

    20180512_131935.jpg
Jame's wife has a picture of us all running on the high way. So back to my exhausted self so by this point in time of have drank a NOS energy drink and had picked up a Starbucks cold brew coffee at a gas station to keep me awake. So when those both hit I was shaking like none other and had the worst caffeine crash of my life, but made it to the camp spot alive but a little sick.

    20180512_093205.jpg
Also had a super tired dog at this point.

    20180512_201909.jpg
    20180512_202334.jpg

Then Sunday we headed to Moab to fill up our tanks and then head home, but not without checking out the views one last time.

    20180513_085243.jpg
    20180513_085507.jpg

In total we did right around 2700 miles and atleast 700 of it was dirt. Now we can only hope is doesn't take James a year to post his pics but I am not holding my breath.

    Quoted by @Reh5108
Spent 6 days climbing in Indian Creek where I sent my first desert lead! My truck ended up basically being used as homebase for camp so I didn't get to have much fun driving around the area much. I did find entertainment in the Subarus cautiously navigating through the creeks and around rock when I'd just blast over them. Found out the Nest can sleep 3 and a dog, as long as nobody moves lol.

Left the climbing group Friday afternoon to meet up with @Squeaky Penguin @Wishbone Runner and @Night Eagle at the Toquerville falls. It was dark when I arrived and didn't take any pictures in the morning. From there we headed to the Grand Canyon. I can't recall the names of the places we went so I'm just going to drop photos.

I asked my geology friend about the columns of rock and why they are formed in a hexagon. Here was her answer. "It's a volcanic and it cooled extremely slowly so the mineral had time to form into its natural rhombus structure, it could be tonalite"

Kind of sketchy standing under them being that you're standing on columns that already fell..

I had to leave Tuesday morning to head to Salt Lake to pick up my climbing rope that someone left in the pack and took home with them.. Noticed my brakes were feeling funny and found this.

I'd checked the driver side prior to the trip and just assumed the passenger was in similar shape so I didn't bother looking at it. I should have. 30 minutes in a Napa parking lot and I was back up and running.

Also topped off my rear diff since the pinion steal started leaking a lot. Can't really see in the picture but the axle housing is pretty wet.

Spent 11 days living out of the truck and was quite comfortable. I think a fridge is coming soon. Ice doesn't last long in my cooler when it's +100°

Ya it was a blast. Ya you were a ton of help, your fix probably saved my tire from bad wear. You will definitely have to let us know when you are up in this neck of the woods.

Will do. Like I said, we will probably be up in CO in July. No concrete plans yet, so if it's just us, no reason to not head towards you. Always wanted to drive pikes peak. I helped build a record setting bike for that hill climb

Yep, old shop I worked at built and tuned the motor for Jeff tigerts crf450 the first year it was fully paved. Think we were 3rd fastest bike overall and crushed the class record.
