Living on the dangerous side. The meteorologist have not predicted a storm work a shit this year, so not too worried. We were suppose to come snow earlier this week and we barely saw a dusting. Not like I haven't driven in the snow with MTs, not my favorite but it is do able.

We I decided to not be lazy tonight so I pulled my headliner out and started to sound deaden the roof.

    20200430_185449.jpg

Sadly no pics of the sound deadening mat installed. But in about 2hrs I had the headliner out and the majority of the mat in place.

Cleaned the headliner last night and I have to say it is looking pretty darn good.

Before it just had dust everywhere.

Well today was a long day of wiring and finishing up sound deadening. Got all of the switches working and finally got the blue seas panel wired up. Ran new wires back to the bed for the power distribution back there. Got the headliner back in also.

I put close cell foam across the whole roof. The foam did make it a little harder to get headliner into place but I got it there.

    20200502_181455.jpg
Switches in place, they are a different color than the ones in the center console. Oh I also got my back up lights working again after over a year. Still need to seal up the box in the bed but need to clean the dirt out first. Last two things I need to do in the morning are move the CB power to the blue seas and wire up the two switches for my seat heaters.

Ugh you got me jealous of the seat heaters lol. Put them in the wife’s 4Runner about 1.5 years ago and have wanted them for the Taco ever since

Ya I got them when I got the wet okle seat covers. I just got tired of the cigarette lighter plug so now they are hard wired.

I am still messing with that part. I just have the switch legs pulled down to the kick panel. I need to figure out what wires for the round plug I need to tap to work properly. From what I understand the smittybilt switches the positive to operate the in and out. So I the winch power switch going directly to the winch controls. Once I have the winch reinstalled and fully wired I will give you an update. I need to remote mount my new solenoid so it doesn't get trashed by the winters up here.

Couple updates on the truck. Got out and did hole in the rock with @Squeaky Penguin and @TMFF at the start of the month.

    20200508_121543.jpg

Finally also got a very important pack and got it installed on the truck.

    20200516_202637.jpg

While installing these awsome new LCAs I found and repaired my first crack.

    20200516_182824.jpg

I also bought some KBvoodoo bed rails and tailgate cap. When I washed the truck I saw that some paint was peeling under the topper. So the topper needs pulled and then sand the rails and paint them, and install the new caps. So the projects on the truck never end.

Small update on the truck. Went to denver last weekend to pick up some furniture and the truck overheated on me going up Eisenhower. Have never had a temp problem in that area before. Ended up on the side of the rode for about 30 minutes. Once in denver I added some new coolant but the truck temp just kept creeping up past normal as I drove around. So Sunday I ordered a new water pump and have enough fluid to flush the system. I checked the radiator and I can see through it so mud isn't my problem. Hopefully it all helps the truck. Granted the truck does have 140k miles on it now.

    Leo,
I had an idler bearing go out on me over a pass recently. Caused the belt to get tossed. I coasted down the other side, gauge went higher than Ive ever seen it but having a manual saved me from being towed as I got to my campsite and had the parts delivered to me. I got it fixed and now that I'm back home I've ordered all new water pump and idlers and pulley. I'm at 130k and feel lucky to have escaped without more serious issue or recovery bill. I saw your post about the water pump and was curious what else might be working hard and need replacing at this mileage....

Both inner and out tie rods should get replaced, carrier bearing, spark plugs and fluids. I still need to do a transmission flush on my truck. I would also check your front wheel bearings. Mine were bad and I replaced them over the winter.
