nikon D40 or D3000?

    You're concerned about live view? Get a Point-and-Hope camera. A processed image on the LCD will NOT yield the same image you are going to see through the view finder. Anyone that is serious into film or photography will always tell you to use the view finder over the LCD screen.

    Not to mention, can you see your cell phone screen in direct sunlight?

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

    So from what your saying the D3000 don't have live view and the D40 does?
    I thought the D40 didn't have view but it could be wrong.

    Anyway if your wanting a camera with live view you might not be ready for a DSLR. The only time I have ever put my camera into live view was for snowboarding videos & that's just because We forgot the video cam.

    Trust me don't but the D40 it's out dated if your going to spend the money just get the D3000 or wait and save for the D90 replacement that should be coming out sometime soon.
