    I've always had Cannon.

Started with an AE1, and an FT/b.

Also had a T70 and another FT. Now I have an Digi rebel.

    Nothing yet, brand new!
Can't help you on the digital end. I have a Kodak which takes really sharp pics.

I do own a Nikon F4s and EM. With the Nikkor lenses and good film (Kodachrome and Fuji Sensia) you can stick your hand in the colors they are so deep.

My dream is to get one my bodies converted to digital.

I've shot with a Canon 40D, 50D, Rebel 2000, PowerShot S60, and I own an XSi (fits my needs). Any of the SLRs are fairly similar and have very natural controls.

Which Canons feel flimsy? Note that there is a large difference between a magnesium alloy 50D and a plastic XSi. Also differences between L series lenses and a kit lens.

I've always been a Canon owner, but if I went with a DSLR, I'd go for the Nikon because I'd be looking at the D40. I appreciate that Nikon is not worried about chasing after ever higher megapixels on their camera and their focus is on making the most of "low" megapixels.

I have an AT-1 and I love it. Currently looking for a fish eye lense to go with the Macro and wideshot I have. Maybe a zoom.

Loved Canons, but as PATHLC128 said, I can respect Nikons.
