Yup. Probably in July, get away from the city in the summer and go north where it's cool.

I wanted to go this year, but work didn't cooperate.

Yeah That's the only limiting factor lol.

I'm already taking 2 weeks off in April, and a few days in May as well.

I'm at 191K Joel. Just really replacing/upgrading stuff as needed. Brakes are next on my list...

Also: always wanted to do that train trip... I'd be totally interested.

Haha my memory is terrible! I just did all 4 corners this year!

I'll definitely let you know if that trip is happening for me lol I just started doing some light planning today, and preliminary research. The hardest part is I don't know what I don't know haha

I'll tag you when we start planning it.

It's north of BumbleCousinFuckNoWhere Maine. We'll probably do a 5 day weekend.

Day 1: Transit to central Maine (10+ hours of freeway). Camp in a field near my mom's place.
Day 2: Transit to northern Maine (4 hours of freeway and paved state rd, then 4ish hours of dirt roads). We'll be dodging heavy logging trucks who drive 70+MPH on the dirt. Camp at an un-improved camp site in the Great Maine Woods
Day 3: more dirt roads and trains. Camp at another un-improved campsite in the great Maine woods
Day 4: Head south, reverse of Day 2.
Day 5: reverse of Day 1.

It's possible to do in 4 days, but you'll have to a) drive fast and b) see the trains late in the day on Day 2 or early Day 3, then haul ass to get back down here. My thought is to leave Thursday, return Monday. But I will have a reason to stop off in Boston on Day 5 for a half day of meetings. It's also possible, if we make decent time south on Day 3 to make it home day 4, but that's 12 to 14 hours.

    Let me know when.

I'm headed west in June but that's the only month in 2019 I would not be able to arrange something.

Did some exploring this weekend, but didn’t get out since it decided to pour all weekend.

I think people book for a week or something, there are weekends that aren't released yet that are already taken!

haha nope! Just picked a camping spot in June. Going to try and reserve one in july or august, but the spots get bought up less than a minute after when they are released!

Here’s just a general list of things I would look at or replace if you haven’t recently.

    • Diff/tcase fluid
    • Coolant drain and refill
    • Serpentine belt
    • Idler pullies (can get a belt/3 pulley combo for like $100 on eBay)
    • Clean maf/throttle body
    • Thermostat (cheap and easy if coolant is already drained)
    • Grease anything with a zerk fitting
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. But other than that I just kinda replace things as they break as Craig said.

Serp and pulleys next. They squeak pretty loudly after a lot of deep water crossings.

Thanks for the list btw, I have a list almost identical in Evernote for the spring haha

My truck sounded like a new truck after replacing the upper two pullies! It was insane the difference
