Honestly I have thought about getting the marlin kit and then cutting off the area where it gets close to the cam tabs solely just to use the flange pieces.

I have been reluctant to find a shop that won't charge less than $500 for the TC job. Have a local buddy (about an hour away) with a welder willing to do the job, but its just tedious work. The MC kit requires nothing to be removed and just a welder. Even if a shop near me charged $150 to burn the MC kit in, that's better than $500+.

    I really need a welder..

I know @Arcticelf has stated that you might catch the stock LCA bushings on fire if you weld without removing the LCA. I cant confirm, but it is a considerable concern. I hear ya though as welding isnt cheap...one of the perks for moving out west for me as welding here is better in terms of pricing. After looking at the MC kit in more depth, I dont know if I would get it since it might conflict with my dirt designs cam tab gussets. I do like the flange on the bottom it provides though.

Luckily I have replacement LCAs, cam bolts etc after finding out my shit was seized after the first attempt at the TC kit. Plan was full replacement and clean up, repaint the BAMF LCA skids and replace the bolts with stainless hardware. On top of the ECGS bushing and gusseted spindles.

I have a LOT of shit to do...

Yea man by me going LT, I knocked out that problem all in one upgrade which only reiterrates how expensive this process is to fix. Whats funny is at 75k and mostly street miles....yea my shit was seized too. Dont have that problem with poly bushings now though.

I just did it on Sunday. Lift helps, new frame helps. LCA parts just fell out, used 1/4 bottle of antiseize, and back good as new.

Paid buddy $100 for 1.5 hours of "work". I helped him, and that was also including waiting for parts to cool/paint to dry.

Hell yeah..that sounds fun. I have so much steel sitting in the garage waiting to be bolted on or welded on..

Saw on IG that you were in my neck of the woods recently..if I am thinking you are the same person. IG and TW names don't line up so it's hard to keep that straight.

It's annoying that shops quoted me 6-8 hours of work for the gusset kit job. I get shit happens, but a sawzall and 10 minutes and my shit would be torn down. I have all new stuff ready to go in..

Def helps having a fresh set up. Good thing its nice and well lubed...hopefully you wont have any seizures in the long run with knowing what you know and having a fresh start to correct what toyota doesnt do.

Im sure for them there will be some time in the tear down and build back up even if they are fast at it. Being that it is seized too would probably only validate their hour recommendation too.
