Getting some terrible exhaust rattle from the heat shields, I think I'm going to have to do some cutting or something to get rid of that issue.

    Also I'm chasing a P2096 code.

I had a new cat welded in and me thinks there might be a leak post cat. - https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80333-Muffler-Tailpipe-Putty/dp/B000BKEBOU

OR the rear O2 is going bad.

Also getting a nasty squeal with the A/C on, so I'm hoping it's simply the Idler Pulley - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=506551&cc=1433581&pt=6956

I thought the heat shield rattle was just a normal subbie sound

mine is getting worse and is embarrassingly loud lol

I've been toying with the idea of some UEL headers but they're all too expensive (for a beater car), plus I've never head luck with O2 sensors and headers in the past..

Haha I'd rather try to make my own if I get bored one day.

I was looking at new Outbacks, but I'm kinda waiting for mazda's new inline 6 RWD platform to come out next year. if they can make something like the old Mazdaspeed6 I'm buying it to daily lol

I'd buy a new speed3 hatch all day long right now if they made it. All the ones locally are either pretty runout or they've been riced so hard I don't even bother taking a second look at them.

Have you seen the 2021 Mazda 3 turbo? AWD hatch with an amazing interior. I'm looking at them too currently to be my daily :)

Yeah, I HATE the look of the back end from the front though. From the back, it looks pretty decent in that second pic though.

Yeah I have mixed feelings on it, but it looks great with some mods.

We'll see, my goal is to make the beater last until 200k and I'm only at 138k so I have plenty of time lol

Oooh. It comes in a manual option though... and 250hp in a little car like that does sound fun.

edit: but they made the turbo auto only?!?

hahaha true that. We'll see, if GME moons this year I'm still gonna try to get my beater to last as long as I can

Got the AC tension pulley in. Required more steps than I originally thought but not too bad.

I also attempted to fix my exhaust with with exhaust putty so we’ll see how well that holds up before it gets chopped off and a new exhaust is welded on.

For now she seems quiet and hopefully fixed! :fingerscrossed:
