Got the email about Fios being ready

Bought the Verizon Router outright, and I'll pair it with my router (I'll change it to access point)

Hopefully when it arrives I can just install it and be done, and cancel the installation

Streaming games to friends here I come!

Played for an hour last night and couldn't stand how loud the PSU was. Even with a headset on.

Snagged this one on sale for $40 off! it's platinum and STILL cheaper than my 800w gold crap.

Tossed the 870 Evo SSD and HX850 platinum PSU in.

    New SSD

    much more respectful speeds

also the PSU is basically silent under sustained load so I’m ecstatic with the state of this machine!

Okay I promise after this I'm done.

    upload_2022-3-23_8-27-14.jpg

I'm convinced I can add another rad to the loop.

Pump > GPU > Top Rad > CPU > Side Rad > Front Rad > Pump - In this Config, Front rad is intake and Top and Side Rads are exhaust

    Or

Pump > GPU > Top Rad > CPU > Front Rad > Side Rad > Pump - In this config, the Side Rad would be intake and the Top and Front Rads would be exhaust

I think option one makes the most sense.

I can run a longer line from the CPU to the right inlet of the Side rad, from the left outlet of the side rad to the right inlet of the front rad and hopefully re use the run from the side rad to the pump to the front rad outlet to the pump

Verdict is in. I ran back too back speed tests and the wifi 6.0 card wins over power line.

    Power Line:

    upload_2022-3-23_19-15-8.jpg

    Wireless

    upload_2022-3-23_19-15-15.jpg

the WiFi 6 card was easy to install, but annoying that it uses one of 2 USB headers I have on my MoBo. Had to order a splitter

    2CC05471-3FFD-4899-A21D-A2EDC8C6AF05.jpg

at least the aesthetic matches my build

    And the cable management lol

To fit the 3rd rad in the front I had to modify the case a bit and get creative with the mounting. Happy with how it’s turned out.

still waiting on my cables I ordered in February….

So you can overclock your controller on PC..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHEFrEyrLAQ

Also, after upgrading to FiOS my wife has having a terrible time with Zoom. Even though we have gigabit ethernet and she's close to the router, there was an "unstable connection"

I did a bunch of research, and it turns out that SIP ALG needs to be disabled for Zoom.

The only problem, is that the Verizon FiOS router doesn't let you actually turn it off. You can enable the device as a DMZ, but I needed to know her computer's IP and since it's a work laptop it's locked down and couldn't get that info in adapter properties.

For shits and giggles I plugged in my old (not Wi-Fi 6) router from like 2015 and we had great stable internet. The range and speeds weren't as good but it worked and I was able to disable the SIP ALG.

Returning the Fios Router and snagged this for $4 more than the Fios router:

    https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Nighthawk-Gaming-6-Stream-Router/dp/B08FWNNWTB

Should be good for whenever we buy a house as well and hopefully no more stupid internet issues!

I'm sure you already tried this and if it's locked down, maybe you can't even open a command prompt but did you try ipconfig /all?

    locked down lol.

system admin to get to that.

i already got a refund from the FiOS router today after I dropped it off from UPS.

i ordered a 100ft cat 6 cable and USB to Ethernet adapter so that there is a backup if the new router doesn’t work
