All my bike hauling combination photos in one place:

Tailgate Pad - takes up all the bed space

Hitch - Hated how long the backend was

Hitch on swingout - Hated how long the backend was

Roof Rack - On a lifted truck a bit cumbersome to huck up there. not to mention who wants to shoulder press their bike after a long ride?

My SideRide Bike mounts - The sweet spot. up and out of the way, only a smidge wider with the handlebars. Bed space free for hauling anything or a softopper / bestop / other covers

Thanks home slice! Impressive to see the page count in this thread. Brings back 6crew vibes lol.

I'm starting a thread now, but off to a good start in the last 4 months. Wanted to be farther along already but parts shortages have been slowing down the progress tenfold.

Haha I've been busy and pretty active.

I feel you on the parts shortages. I've been wanting new coilovers for so long, almost a full year at this point. What's funny is I could have sent mine to down south motorsports or somewhere else for a rebuild and received them back already haha

Oooof. Mine still need to go back to ADS to have softened up, but holding out until I get my alignment in case that makes them ride that much better.

650 (stock 3rd gen or is 717 from what I can find), and sway still on, but it's overly harsh over cracks in the road and stuff. For sway things and big hits it's incredible. Just need the small bump compliance tuned a bit.

C load Nitto Ridge Grapplers @ 35psi. They're smoother than the stock Wranglers, but still not what I was expecting with this suspension setup. Full soft should be way too soft and it's about the stiffest I could ever see wanting to go lol.

hmmm, what length coils? Maybe too much preload? I have a plate bumper and whatever the stock coils are on the extended icons and it's soft af.

Maybe just buy a plate bumper :)

According to ADS I am running way too much preload to be getting the 1.75" of lift I should be (21 threads showing), but they say upping to 700lb will make the ride much harsher and not change the amount of travel.. Not sure how that all works, just know the road ride of this setup is pretty undesirable. Every review says how smooth they ride and I am not getting that at all. From what I can tell I'm not getting any coil bind and I still have 2.5" of down travel so I'm just going to send these back after aligning if I'm still unhappy.

Oh and a 14" spring according to the p/n on the spring. No additional weight yet.

yeah preload will make you're ride suck. I wonder if you can just get taller springs at the same spring rate so you don't have to run as much preload and don't have to go to 700 lb or anything

They suggested maybe 16" springs, but from what I've seen on here that's a big nono.

hmmmm I don't recall enough info about suspension stuff to give good advice.

@HolyHandGrenade did but he's out being a farmer with giant old fords which are sick

@EatSleepTacos or maybe @Arcticelf would know more for your application. They're both smart cookies

Said screw it to my leaking icon and went to Rausch anyways. Glad I did as it was a ton of fun.

went with 3 Jeep’s and a 4runner and ran mostly blues.

I gotta get the video yet but the one blue had a gully what I thought for sure I was scraping body on, but to my surprise the wheels sticking out past my fenders and front bumper took the hit.

fun to wheel with folks who send it.

Didn’t take many photos, but this is what I got so far

Surprised this guy wanted to do blues. He took bypasses occasionally but i was impressed with his willingness to send. Also I watched Atrac work well here

Accidentally dented the A piller. Since it’s already dented I might as well just rivet them on

I’m shocked at the durability of the snorkel, running into a tree at a wild angle and it didn’t crack and give, the A pillar did haha

So last week I dropped it off at my local Firestone for an alignment after off roaring, and I specifically asked for as much positive caster as possible. I watched the guy add a note about it. I ask for this every time I get an alignment.

picked up the truck and immediately noticed the caster numbers weren’t printed on the sheet. When I asked they, said they weren’t saved for some reason. So I drove off and immediately noticed how poor the truck drove.

    31EAA953-62B5-4661-8122-0ACD85BBB5DF.jpg

I took it back and asked them to double check, and the tech argued with me that the suspension was the cause of it driving poorly. I politely said throw it on the rack and I bet the caster is whatever stock is.

sure enough it was and now adjusted with much higher caster the truck drives amazing again.

moral of the story, people are idiots.

It seems to always be something with them. They tore my CV boot in the summer. Ended up going there 3 times in 4 days and they replaced the CV for free.
