Your work must not like you. Joking

Yeah, it’s dated, rough, they are affordable and some people have put them through hell and they still run. I can see the appeal for a certain market but no, just no in my preference.
But hey, props for sticking with it and not asking to get something different.

You are correct. Guys on this forum putting down Tacoma’s, they should go out and drive other trucks, they just feel cheap. When I went into a Tacoma and slammed the door I knew I was buying one. I am very happy with mine

"It just feels cheap" is a great way to describe the frontier. I just like trying out other trucks for the fun of it which is why i chose this over some lame sedan. If it was more than 2 days or i had to drive around a client i'd go swap this out.

You don't like the tupperware interior and wallowing suspension either? I had one as a rental a couple years ago. I did like the engine. I had a second gen at the time, a '15, the Frontier felt like a much older truck even though their design dated from about the same time.

I bought a new Nissan crew cab 2WD in '04. I wanted a Toyota, but a stick shift 2WD was not made. My wife wrecked that Nissan and I replaced it with a low mileage '04 Xterra. It was a nice vehicle. Problem was the tires were more than she could handle when she had a flat, not a rare occurrence where we live. I bought a used '04 Nissan Crew 2WD cab while she still had the Xterra. Traded it for a Honda Civic for the wife and took over the Xterra for a couple of years before I sold it to buy something else. I don't know about the later years, but the '04 Nissans with 5 speed and V6 were pretty good vehicles. I didn't keep them for high miles, tho.

Hah, my previous truck was a '99 4 cylinder, 5 speed with 3.42 gears and a Detroit locker. Slow was an understatement. But yanno I really liked that truck, it NEVER left me stranded, and was somewhat easy to work on and maintain. It was sad to see it go actually, but I did not need 4 vehicles around.

Back on the subject of the Frontier. I had a '07 Nismo Offroad 2wd back when I lived in Mississippi and I actually really liked that truck. Yes the interior was plain as Hell and plasticy, but was functional. That year of truck was known for its timing chain issues and it finally succumb to it while out of warranty, so off it went. But I would honestly buy another one.

My 2010 Pro-4x 6spd has been great all around, no reason I wouldn't buy another.

I think when buying a truck. You should be paying more for a good engine, transmission, payload, towing, and other truck related features. To me, fancy interior and electronics are less important. You should see the monsters I drive at work, and these things are worth $80K+

The price tag is $80k+. They are not worth that to me. Long term reliability is king. Extra bells and whistles generally do not contribute to that.
