    Im lol'ing at their comparisons.

They are pretty ignorant/hypocritical. They keep saying the tacomas interior is cheap plastic and made for a woman, or asians as it is too small. I've been in a Frontier, it's way smaller and cheaper than a Tacoma.

They keep talking about the 4 disc brakes, even though Tacomas are 1st in their class for stopping power.

They say Frontiers ride much more comfortable/smoother and that they like how it rides more like a truck and Tacomas ride harder/stiffer and compare it to a passnger car like a camry... thats a contradiction right there... eh?

and that's just to name a few off the whole thread; over in club frontier, ignorance IS bliss

its not a good sign for the compact (or midsize) truck market to lose a major competitor like the Frontier, like it or not its a good quality truck in this segment. Ive heard ford is considering replacing the Ranger with a new global mid size truck built in Thailand. And with the success Ford is having right now it could be a serious threat to the Tacoma.

This is my cousin Corey's Titian that drove into a pond when we went wheeling a while back and yes it got totaled because of that. Now he has an FX4 F250 and it blows

 Fanboy feud lives on. If it's true that Frontier's on the chopping block this could definitely change things up in regards to competition. Tacoma will be up against half tons more and more.

you would think that compact and mid sized trucks would be more popular with todays high gas prices and the not so great economy? Im really not sure why the Frontier doesnt sell better?

It seems like that, i was going to buy another Full Size but i really didn't need the V8. The reason why they don't sell better is because IMO they are fugly, the Taco gets better MPG, they don't come in optional trims like the Taco so the selection isn't high, they don't have the ground clearance like the taco does, the Taco has more of an selection when it comes to colors. There's more but i really don't feel like going into more detail. IMO the Taco drives better i test Drove a PRO-4X when i was shopping for my next truck and it drove like a van.

I considered test driving a Frontier before I got my Tacoma. I am glad that I did not. If I want the minivan feeling I should have just drove my wife's 07 Odyssey.

This am I just hit the 5000 mile mark and it just keeps getting better and better. I love this truck!!!!!! Tacoma for the win!!!!!:D

That forum does make valid points. Tacoma needs competition to continue to get better. I doubt they will drop the truck.

    I don't think it's a bad looking truck.

I just prefer my Tacoma more.

And I can't stand the steering wheel in the Nissans.

And I can't stand the lack of bolstering in the seats.

That does look cool. But I like the older front-ends. The new one looks too much like an altima or mini van.

This is not a big surprise. Mid-size trucks are less and less of a value proposition these days. They get mileage close to full sizers and offer less of everything. And the price gap between the two segments is now so small as to be irrelevant.

Toyota will continue to build and sell the Tacoma as long as its sales numbers are astronomical (and they are). Ford will continue to do the same with the Ranger (especially considering the tooling is long paid off and Rangers are extremely profitable for them).

The Frontier is a good truck. It has every right to compete with the Tacoma, even if Nissan's longevity and reliability isn't at Toyota levels. The VQ engine is one of the best sixes ever made.

Overall, this is a sign of the waning mid-size truck market. Manufacturers will either go back to compact pickups, or simply only offer full size trucks in the US.
