    Hi there!

Just finished building my rack for my canopy! I had the idea of building a rack out of a scrapped xterra for a while and finally after doing some research I found out someone had done it with a first gen Xterra rack on a frontier shortbox. So, knowing that it was possible I went and bought a entire 2nd gen xterra rack system from the scrapper and an extra set of "feet" or "podiums" that connect the rear bar ends to the xterra itself. Total it was like 40$. I cut of the flat section of the rack I was going to use and cut it to length after some test fitting. Once I had the sizes figured out I sprayed it with bed liner to cover up the old sun spot where the Xterra logo was. I lined it up on the canopy just using painters tape and a soft measuring tape. Bit the bullet, closed my eyes and drilled the holes through the canopy once I was confident everything was square. Mounted everything up with some hardware and sealed it all with marine goop.

Hope this inspires you guys for a cheap project! worked great and it totally waterproof.

That's a pretty good looking rack! I used to have a Frontier, and always liked the look of the large-tube rack.
