Is there any way this mod could be draining my battery? I did do the lighted switch.

No. Just wondering in the wiring if there would be something that is always hot and a drain.

I don't think so. The only hot wire I believe would be the one on the relay, but it shouldn't have load as long as the relay isn't pulled in. You could check with a multimeter if you have one. And depending on which one you might have, it might be a pain. Sorry, hard to trouble shoot this kind of stuff remotely.

No problem. Good luck. But off the top of my head, I would think if the fogs aren't lit up, and the switch isn't lit up, you shouldn't have any draw from this set-up.

It shouldn’t. If the switch light turns off when the lights are turned off there shouldn’t be any power draw.

You don’t have to go the stalk switch route. Read through the entire thread, somewhere someone goes over doing a dash switch instead of stalk switch. I followed that one instead. All the steps for the engine bay are the same, but a few more wires get hooked up in the cab.

Look on page 4 of the thread. The OP does the write up for the Pre-wired and goes over the install without removing the steering wheel. Sorry it took a minute to find it.

It's a bummer he sold the truck, but I spotted it in the wild. New owner seems to be appreciating the legend itself.

Just finished this mod with the OEM stalk switch on my 2020 SR. I’ll have to admit, the pucker factor was high as I was playing around with the airbag and the clock spring. But everything came right off and went back together flawlessly!

Hi can anyone here tell me the pin internal switching of the 2011-2016 fog lights switch? 84160-04020 What pins make to what other pins when the switch is operated? Trying to figure out how to use a different switch. For instance it appears that pin 4 makes to pin 3 - using that logic then we assume that pin 1 makes to pin 2 when they switch is actuated. Correct? Or is it switching differently? Why would illum beige and illum green connect? And what is on pin 26 of the body ECU? [IMG]

I'm thinking of using a switch with this pinout [IMG]
    Thanks

What switch are you planning on Using? pin 1 does not make to pin 2, it’s dash illumination power to the switch led.
    See theses posts:
    Nitori's OEM SR Foglight mod!
Circuit diagram for a Mictuning switch. CH4X4 fog light switch connections are the same as the Mictuning but it uses a solid state switch. Wiring dash illumination to the switch this way allows the led brightness to be varied with the dash button you turn to change dash brightness.
    Nitori's OEM SR Foglight mod!
Read both posts thoroughly and you will understand how it all works and the circuits.

Hi David I've read through the threads - I ordered a caliraised switch https://caliraisedled.com/collectio...s/products/toyota-oem-style-fog-lights-switch
.. trying to save a few bucks. OK I see your switch is the same.. that's very useful information.. think I can make this switch work using your method. I'll copy the info and save it. I am also using CaliRaised Led Fog lamps and mounts. How did you get the left switch panel off?
