Which fog lights did you use?

 

Okay before I bite the bullet and do the non pre wired. Can someone double confirm that that pin is the fog light switch pin. I looked at the wire diagrams and it seems it is but I also noticed my wire isn't dark green like the photos but a lightish green.

 

Which wire are you referring to?
The switch wires are blue and white with black strip.

Sorry my bad I meant to say at the body ecu pin 26 that's next to the back wire and above the green wire (mine isn't dark green it's more of a lighter green). I confirmed that my truck isn't prewired va no wire in the pin (all I had to do was pop out the switch panel) I just want to triple check that the pin directly above the green wire is infact pin 26 and people have used it with no problem at all .

Thanks for the help that 27 green in the colored diagram pictures is more like mine. I bought everything the other day and I have inserted the wire and such along with tested it out with OEM led fogs and all seems to work fine. Just waiting on the fog light bezels and cali raised led fog light switch and piggyback to come in to finish wiring it all up.

 

Help! I am trying to complete this fog light installation on my 2022 Tacoma SR. I am prewired but the “unused deck lighting plug” is being used for my truck bed light. I see the beige and green wire but not sure I should tap into those because of the on/off switch for the bed light. Is there somewhere else I can get power for the switch? Thanks in advance!

 

IF you are adding a dash switch instead of the steering stalk with the fog switch integrated, you do NOT need power. You need a ground. Green & Beige are for switch illumination.

 

Thank you for the response, Caribe! You are right….they work right now just the way I have them wired. Just have to file the notch so the switch will fit in the dash. Not concerned about the switch illumination. Thanks again….this Forum is the best!!!

 

What switch did you get?

 

I got the OEM switch listed in the “Dash Switch Install” section of this post. Part number: 84160-04020.

 

What notch did you have to file down?

 

My notch is like the one in Nitori’s example…..the switch won’t fit without filing this notch. The switch was for 2nd Gen Tacomas and mine is 3rd Gen:

 

Would I be safe tapping into the green & beige wires on my bed light toggle switch to add illumination to my newly installed fog light switch? Or would I end up blowing a fuse?
