So if you're pre wired (in column) and you have the wires already in the grill...all I need is the shifter, lights and the housing for the light?

I have the 23 Trail pre wired for fogs. My headlights are auto dimming and my current stalk has DRL off switch but no fogs...do I go with 020 or 010 I wonder.

My 23 SR is not pre-wired. I'm using the OEM pushbutton switch setup noted here on TW. Does anyone know if the fog light indicator on the instrument cluster will work when using this method?

    Hey everyone, first time poster!

I picked up a 2017 Tacoma today and it appears as though the previous owner did this install. The fog lights aren’t working though. He added a switch to the dash (looks to be OEM from 2015) and I traced the wires from the lights to the switch. Then the wire continues under the dash and disappears into the center console.

Any idea where it may lead?!

    thank you!

Jus finished this install today and this guide from @Nitori and the walk through for non wired with OEM switch from @Elephant made it a breeze. I went with all OEM parts / led fogs. Everything works as a pre-wired units.

Thanks!, it was not too difficult. Post 899 from Elephant walks you through the wiring on the 23 SR.

Just found out that my truck is pre-wired! Pretty excited about that.

I recently bought a set of fogs from Amazon that I was going to go with to save some money, but the seller didn’t include instructions and wouldn’t provide them because they said that professional installation was “highly suggested”, so I’m returning them and going the OEM route.

I’ve got the 2014 Corolla stalk with the fog switch and intermittent wipers on its way for a measly $75. Pretty excited to be doing both of those upgrades at once. I had a lead on some take-off OEM fogs and bezels, but the guy I was gonna buy from hasn’t gotten back to me in a bit. If nothing else, I’ll just head up the street to pick-n-pull and see what I can find. Are there any solid aftermarket halogen options I should look at?

Also does anyone have a link to the relay that I’ll need for the fuse box under the hood? Thanks!

Finally sourced some lights and got everything installed this morning before work. Very stoked. Only hiccup was that the relay I ordered was not the correct one, so I had to pop by the dealership when they opened and luckily they had only one in stock.

All in all, pretty easy from start to finish. To anyone considering doing it, read the full thread thoroughly. @Nitori provided the base install and did a damn good job of putting it all together, but there was a lot of useful information added later from others regarding the clock spring (which I really thought I messed up when installing).

Super happy with them, just need to adjust them later tonight after work.

Can you explain what you mean by what you ran into with your clock spring?

I admittedly didn’t read through the entire thread at first and when I started taking the steering wheel off to replace the stalk, I didn’t realize the clock spring removal was part of it, so I had to watch through several YouTube videos and read this thread on the fly to figure out how to get it off.

There was no clear cut guide to getting the clock spring off (3 tabs, kind of tricky to get out without breaking) and then I had issues with my steering wheel alignment and got worried that I had broken the clock spring because at one point, my horn stopped working. After removing the wheel again, I was finally able to get it back into the correct position and the horn came back.

Hey guys! Awesome thread. Can't say how thorough this thread and useful this thread was. Thanks to Nitori, Caribe and everyone who's contributed to this.

Just installed this on at 2023 SR. Not prewired, and opted for the Air on Board switch with DD Elite fog lights. So glad to have everything function and look like OEM. This came up in a few posts, but if your fog lights don't turn on, check the polarity of the plugs going to the fog lights... That caused a bit of aggravation for me, too.

How anyone swapped their stock SR headlights for a pair of SR5 L shape DRLs headlights. If you have how did you wire them up? Thanks

Just completed this modification on my 2022 SR5 SX. The truck was pre-wired and the fuse and relay were already in place from the factory, so I went the OEM switch route.

I'm really happy with the result. The OEM switch works perfectly (dashboard light comes on, fog lights go off when high beams go on)

Just wanted to mention a couple of things that I hadn't seen mentioned.

Removing the grille - The videos I watched talked about removing the 2 screws and the 2 clips that are visible under the hood, but I was not able to remove the grille until I removed 2 other clips halfway down the grille at either end.

Removing the fog light covers - The side clips on the fog light cover came off easily enough, but there is a center clip that I was not able to remove without breaking. I don't have a solution of this, but it might be easier to do from the wheel well.

Detaching the old wiper arm from the headlamp switch assembly - I didn't realize that the wiper arm and blinker arm were connected. The wiper arm plugs into the headlamp assembly. I fiddled with it for a while and found that prying the clip in the back and either the top or bottom clips at the same time gave me enough space to pop the wiper arm out. Its helpful to compare the new headlamp switch assembly with the original one to see how the wiper arm clips in.
