I just did this mod on my 2019. my truck was not pre-wired. everything is set up when I hit the fog light button I can hear the relay go off and can see the fog light indicator on the dash go off. but the fog lights don't go off. Has anyone run into this or am I overlooking anything?

Try switching the polarity on the fog light plug.

Seems you might have the wrong feed to the lamps from the relay...

I'm also leaning towards it's your switch wiring.

Hello, I'm new here. I've read the thread pretty thoroughly but could still use some help. I have a 2021 SR that is pre-wired. My cargo lights are in use and I would like to keep it that way. Has anyone created/updated Nitori's original post to show how to do the wiring for a dash switch when cargo lights are in use? I'm slightly dyslexic, so pictures help me a lot!

Cargo lights are a separate circuit, nothing to do with fogs.

Ok caribe, can you help me out here? What do I need to do if the deck lighting plug is in use?

    Nothing.
The plug for the deck lighting is the same for the Cargo Lamp.
    Not related to fogs.
Are you having an issue with adding a switch and no space for it?

@Jcforbes3 I think yoy are referring to stealing illumination? If so just tap the wires from the cargo switch. Or buy a harness that you can plug and play. I think tacomalifestyle sells them.

Done and done. I can’t believe how I put this off for two years. It was pretty easy, granted my SR was pre-wired.

IMG_5592.jpgLooks like I’m prewired on my 2023 TE. Just bought a bunch of the stuff from the stealership minus the actual lights (going aftermarket) but forgot to get the self tapping screws. Anyone know the size I may need? I’m already in the hole for $514 and the DD fogs I’m getting are around $375 they were Kindof pricks and don’t want to go back if I don’t have to.

I used some random screws I had lying around. Just made sure they were thick enough to fit well into the space the give. I haven't had any problems.

Interesting on your cost though. I did almost everything OEM, fog light harness, fog light covers, etc. I did go aftermarket button switch (no stalk coz not prewired), and I also went DD for the foglights (but I went elites since I wanted a more OEM look, and i love the backlighting). Including fog lights, I spent $400.... granted my fog lights are almost half of the DD3s (assuming this is what you bought), and your stalk probably adds $100? but still.

The stalk was $203 and the harness was over $100 $30 for each bezel. And $30 for the relay. I looked up everything and the dealer was about double the price for everything except the stalk. Obviously I have sucker written on me. What a chump. I’ll order the DD SS3 pros next month.
    Thanks for the replay.

If you can return your parts, I got my stalk (including an intermittent wiper switch) for $100+shipping on eBay. Mine is from a 2016 Corolla which bolts up exactly the same. I think I was all in with lights for under $350 but I bought almost all my parts used other than the harness.

No returns on electrical items or special orders. I’ll survive. Lesson learned…..again
I’m not one to bash dealerships too much but this one I’ve had issues with all the way back to my wife’s 05 highlander.
