Why do you need to pull the steering wheel off to replace the turn signal stock, when replace my wiper stock it was plug n play.

The turn signal stalk is integrated with the part of the assembly that goes on the steering column. You cannot just pull out the headlight/wiper stalk like the wiper stalk.

You can use that switch, but if you want a factory looking install with the dash indicator working you'll need the column switch.

My dash indicator comes on, and I did not change the column switch / turn signal stalk.

I suppose if you wire the switch into the existing pre wiring you'll have the indicator work.

Does anyone have photos or perhaps video of these steps? It would come in handy for uninitiated Taco owners like me.

Why do you have the part number for the STOCK switch? I ordered everything on the list and now have 2 useless switch assembly's. And get to do it all over again.

Did you receive the right part number? If you entered your VIN you probably got "corrected" by the parts department who figured you screwed up.

Every source I have says that 84140-0R030 is the right part number.

If you really don't believe me, here is the screencap of the catalog:

Double check the part number of what you actually got.

I was told, and found the opposite.
    0R030 is SR stock/without
    And 0R020 is with fog
Even called Toyota and they checked vin with fogs to double check. That's Weird.

Wow that is really strange. Sorry for any confusion dude, I trusted the sources I was given and I will edit that post to reflect that there's something afoot. Let me know when you get an 020 and can confirm it has the fog switch!

What part number do you need that isn't in the first post??

Well that's a bummer. I have parts on the way, and it'll be the wrong switch. Honest error, though.

I assume they will have no problems swapping it out.

I can confirm Shamangue is correct. I also ordered the wrong stalk, but was able to exchange it.
    0R030 is without fogs
    0R020 is with fogs
0R010 is with fogs and auto DRL
In this case, the "descriptions" are wrong, but the prices don't lie.

    Thank you for confirming this!

No dice, you would need the optical sensor which the SR does not have.

Yep, I'm returning mine today. On my invoice it states "all electrical component sales are final", which is a bit ambiguous to me ... so I'm hoping they don't give me a problem. (Conicelli)

    Show them their own webpages:

    https://parts.conicellitoyotaofconshohocken.com/oem-parts/toyota-multi-function-switch-841400r020

    https://parts.conicellitoyotaofconshohocken.com/oem-parts/toyota-headlamp-switch-841400r030

R030 says both "without" and "with" fogs but R020 only says "without" fogs.

Don't be a dick about it but be persistent, tell them you relied on the parts descriptions on their website in good faith and that it's not unreasonable to ask for a return based on an error.

Good catch, I didn't even notice that. I'll couple that with the screen shot you shared above, and it's a pretty solid case. This page will be cued up before my visit.

It actually looks like mine was returned already. The bubble bag was ripped open on the side and scotch taped shut. I didn't even open it, but it looks like I did. I can just preempt by saying it looks like somebody else had this trouble already, based on the condition my part arrived in. Eh, they probably won't even question me ... likely overthinking it.
