Is it actually necessary to remove the steering wheel? On the SR intermittent wiper mod thread, the wiper stick is modular and can be snapped in and out of the main steering column ring.

I just installed fog lights on my 2017 SR v6 3.5L 4x4. I was prewired. I bought a used turn signal shaft on eBay ($80), an electrical wire harness to the fog lights on eBay ($63), the Relay fuse from Amazon ($18), and some factory lights and surroundings off this website from somebody that upgraded theirs ($53). $214 total and it looks factory/stock. It took me and a buddy about 3 hours taking our time.
After everything is put back together I realized my wheel is about 1 click to the left of center when driving straight. :( I think I’ll buy a new wiper shaft before I take everything apart to fix the wheel.

Does anyone know where I can get the larger “ice blue” fog light switch (like RocTaco’s pictured in post #158)?
I’ve already installed my fogs (see post #127), but I want to move the switch to the center location.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Amazon or ch4x4? Search toyota small push switch.

They must've changed some stuff around, I'm pretty sure this is the switch I have:
    https://www.aironboard.com/online/p...t-toyota-oem-replacement-fog-lights-blue.html
It's cheaper than when I bought it too.

If you can solder, the leds are easy to change as is the brightness level.

    Thanks Roc & Bagelboy,
I found one on Amazon. Supposedly it has 2 internal LED’s - one that lights when fog lights are on, and the other is on whenever the lights are on. It came with a 4-wire pigtail, but the switch itself has 5 terminals.
My existing switch is 4-wired OEM according to Nitori’s instructions.
I’ll just need to figure out how to mate up the 4 wires to the new switch.

The center terminal is unused on all of these switches. Its soldered to the switch pcb but no traces are connected to it.

Look closely at the connector and you'll see none of the 4 wires go to that pin either.

Sure, no problem. The way these are set up one led is connected to the switch output and comes on with the switch and the other has a dedicated pin to feed it power but both share the same ground because toyota dims the lights on the ground side. If you want them to dim with the dash you need to connect black to the dash dimmer ground. If not, simply connect black to chassis ground but they'll be very bright and not dimable. You can also connect red 2 to the switch output to have both leds come on with the switch.
The wire colors vary from seller to seller but on your switch these should be the wires:
    Green- connect to 12v supply
Red 1(next to green) -switch output
Red 2 (next to black) - connect to 12V supply(switched or not)
Black - connect to either chassis ground or dash dimmer ground

It took me awhile to get this straight but it helped when I got a peak inside(a delivery dude tossed the packet in the driveway and it got munched when the gf backed over it) the pcb survived but the button and case did not. Otherwise I'd probably still be in the dark too. Lemons>lemonade.

One more thing, if you only connect green and red1 the switch will work just fine but neither led will light up. Ground is for the leds only and has nothing else to do with switch function.

Ok, I got it wired up.

And Bagelboy, you’re right about TOYOTA wiring the dimmer the way it does.
I couldn’t make this switch work utilizing both of the internal LED’s, because of how I originally wired up my fogs - OEM thru the ECU.
Otherwise, your way would have worked for me.

After a few PM’s with Nitori I have it figured out. I either had to have the fog light switch illuminate when ever my parking lights /headlights are on, or illuminate only when the fog lights themselves are on.
I chose the latter, and I’m happy with the outcome.
I did not have to disassemble anything on the center console - I was able to pry off the cover to the un-used slot and fish a wire thru, which I used to pull the 4 wires to the new switch.
I did not remove the existing fog light 4-prong plug. I just tapped off those wires.

    Thanks guys.

Yup, the dimmer circuit is only activated through the parking/headlights. One led has a dedicated power lead but to have dimming you have to have the lights on. Since that's the stock arrangement, that's how mine's set up.

I don’t know what others are using, but I was able to find a used set that included the wiring harness, from a member here. Which I think is the way to go. I was planning on purchasing the harness new, but it was included in box when I received the fog lights. All plug and play.

The illumination is separately wired from the switch which is why it has 4 wires, switch power in, out, illumination power and ground, though the switch " on " indicator gets power from the same source as the switch it still needs a ground wire to come on. Choice of illumination power source and ground(both illumination and switch "on" leds share a common ground) determine when the switch is illuminated when "off" and whether dimming is used. The switch would still work even if the 2 illumination wires weren't connected but in that case I'd seal the unused ground wire as the end becomes hot whenever the switch is on.

Just did it. The airbag is a white knuckle experience, but not bad after. I let the truck sit without power for an hour. It was way easier than I thought. Disconnecting the round thing from the blinker harness was a look and learn thing. There are three clips that I didn't know about, but if you stare at it, you will see them.

I ordered the harness for the fog lights and the relay. I have an 2017 SR with convince and it was prewired. I didn't take pics as this thread said almost everything needed.

    Thanks Nitori !!!!
