Yes. It went in well. Made minor adjustments to the carrier shims to dial in backlash and tighten the preload. It was on an AWD v8 T4R, so as soon as we took off, you could feel it, super grabby. Then we went to test it out on some hill climbs, worked flawlessly.

Have you done any more? Maybe on a part time 4WD setup like stock Tacos? No doubt this is great off-road or in snow but wondering how it affects steering feel and turn radius?

Haven't done any on selectable 4wd. I imagine it would work well in a low traction situation, but regular street driving in 4hi it would bind the front end more than open diff.

I was talking about 2hi. No way that this diff would bind up the front in 4hi before the transfer case would

I installed a Torsen up front and a TruTrac in the rear of my 2nd gen Taco with 4.56 gears. Have had it in for a little over year and a half. Does really well in snow, mud, and yes, even rock crawling. If you do hardcore rock crawling of course a locker is the better choice. But with these LSDs in 4lo and the brakes applied, it will spine all 4 wheels and pull you out, even if you only have two wheels touching the ground! I have been behind rigs on the trails more then once and they had to use their lockers, my LSDs pulled me right on through with a little use of the brakes. Pretty cool!

With a ADD systems in 2wd, the differential is disengaged outside of the differential housing, so even with a locked/LSD installed it is still open. However like pointed out earlier, since the LSD isn't open, the driver side wheel will spine the differential and driveshaft even though the passenger side wheel is disengaged. Even a open differential will spine the driveshaft some due to friction, but with a LSD up front it has no choice but to spine. I have notice a slight pull to the driver side at 60mph+ because of this, but it isn't a bother. I have measured diff temps front and rear after long highway drives and haven't seen anything to worry about. Time will tell if I start to have premature wear, but I really don't think it will be an issue.

I have driven it a little on the ice in 4hi with no problems. Yes, the transfer case will bind just before the LSD does. If you're binding, you probably have to much grip to need 4wd and start to run the risk of blowing something up at higher speeds.

    Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, 2hi would be zero binding because of the ADD.

Front would b8nd some due to the different rotation on turns

Why does ECGS site not show more options like this?
Under their front clamshell (2nd gen) it only lists elocker and ARB

It used to show the T8. Thanks for the clarification, wondering what happened!
