Nitto Grappler A/T's

Does anybody have any experience with these tires. I am looking for something that will look good on my truck, but I dont want the tire humm on the highway. I will ba staying with the stock 265/70/16 and a new set of wheels.

I had a set of 285 16s on my tundra. They were great. I plan to get a set for my taco when the time comes. Your highway hummer issue on the otherhand will be your prob. I would have to say all A/T's anf offroad tires are gonna have some sort of humm on the highway, just how much humm compared to others I can't answer. I din think it was all that bad though, or it just din bother me cuz the exhaust drown it out.

 

some people on here say theres dont wear good, but my wife has them on her taco. theres 20k and counting! good tires, imo.

 

I just replaced my 17" TRD rim with nitto 265/65/17's with an 18" XD and nitto 285/60/18's

I've had them before and plan on getting them again for this truck. Slighly louder than a highway tire, but not bad.

 

I have not forgotten you, I love the look, but my MPG went from 320-330 (with the stock 17" TRD rims and nitto 265/65/17) down to 290-300 (with 18" rims and nitto 285/60/18) which was a big (bad) surprise

 

I'm thinking of buy a set of NITTO to replace my rugged trail. Do you think this tire make more noise than the BFG?

 

I also ran the 285/60/18 NTGs when I first got the truck. They were on it when I got it. Rode fine, quieter than the Duratracs I have now but the grip in mud sucked compared to the Duratracs. They lasted good, drove good, were quiet & have 50k treadwear. They also come in C load for 18" rims unlike the Duratracs which are all E load in 18". Most of my travel is pavement so after the Duratracs give up, will most likely be going back to NTGs because of price, weight & performance. Had to go to 275/65/18 on Duratracs which are 32x11. The 285/60/18 NTGs are 31.5x11.5 but also come in 275/65/18. Not sure which of those sizes to go with next. With the 32" tires, my speedo matches my gps and other car's speedos exactly.

Worst tire I've ever bought...only got 26K miles out of them...maybe I got a bad batch but I won't buy them again...

 

I replaced my stock tire at about 10k miles with them. I've had them on for about 4k miles now and I love them. I had them through winter and only had troubles once in some nasty slush. I didn't think that the road noise, ride, mpg, or anything suffered from the change. So far I'm very happy with them.

I have had Nitto terra Grapplers on my Tacoma for a little over two years now. I have really liked them. Quiet on the road, great on wet highways/roads. Also have had them in deep sand several times and had no problems. A great tire in my opinon! Have around 22,000 miles on them now. Will be happy if I get 30/35,000 out of them. Good tire for the money.

 

nope, I didnt want to mess with any suspension changes so I went as big as I could with stock. I originally planned on 285/65/18 but would need a lift, there are a few good threads on the tire/wheel forum with people doing this
