    Not to be that PITA guy but wen I spoke to the Nitto rep (all three times) they kept reiterating that I should not think of them as actual Ply's in the sense of how many strands of wire are in there, rather instead they use that rating as a way to compare their construction method to older Bias style tires.

    In my mind though I don't see how that matters. If it is not made up with wire and another construction method is used instead that represents wire then isn't that the same thing as the strength of wire? o_O

    It all sounds like mumbo jumbo to me sometimes.............

    I got my info from @Discount Tire Direct. Maybe they can shed some light on it.

    That would be fantastic. I for one would love to see a well written and comprehensive description of what goes into the construction of these tires.

    I am 100% satisfied with them but if there was just one thing I could have different, it would be more sipes in each tread block. Or the reason why they don't have/need them. My first guess is it help reduce premature wear. Because mine still look new after nearly 20k miles.

    @ChadsPride How many miles you at on your Nitto's now? How's the increase in road noise? Any pull with them?

    15k miles on mine, but I’m doing 5 wheel rotations so miles on them isn’t quite what the odometer says.
    No noticeable increase in road noise or characteristics.

    Got about 7-8k on them

    STILL look like a new tire. Not much road noise as they wear, maybe the slightest hum.

    Well, I "Bro'd" out and went with 265/75/16 KO2's from Costco. Couldn't pass up the deal. Thanks for all your inputs, though!

    @Black05 @MKW

    I got the SL nitto ridge grapps in 285/70/17 put on last week and they look pretty mean. They ride great no road noise idk about traction yet but I’m overall pleased with how they look and feel. Pics don’t do them justice.

    I just upgraded my suspension so now my 265's look a little small, honestly, only in the pictures. They are not so bad in person.

    It looks ok. That, IMO, is the problem with the DCLB Tacomas...you need a lot of tire to even them out.
