I know it was asked in here once about wet tire performance but didn’t get much response

I have read 3-4 reviews on the web about these performing poorly driving on the roads when they are wet and possible hydroplaning.

I am just wanting to ask you all if anyone has any comment on that good or bad.

I drive a lot of highway miles and lots of rainy weather here in FL so this is important to me.

    thanks!

Even though I replaced them these are excellent tires. I never had any issues on wet roads. And we get some wet roads in florida. They performed very well for me even on the sick as snot georgia clay roads and excellent in the mud on our property.
    Hope that answers your question

so most likely these are going to be my next tires. whats the difference between C, E, SL rated? one is 205 per tire for 285/70/17 and other is about 250 per tire i believe.

    edit:
    285/70/17 116Q SL $211
    285/70/17 116Q C1 $257
    285/70/17 121Q E1 $268

Load capacity. E being highest and heaviest. mainly used on 3/4- 1ton trucks. Those were the only ones available when I got mine. Good to see the other ratings now.

If your not towing heavy loads or payload
    Sl is fine.

Different load ranges. Basically, it's stiffness of the sidewall. They have different tread depths also.

I have the 285/70/17 116Q SL on my truck. Replaced a set of 285/70/17 C rated BFGs and couldn’t be happier. Comfort, road noise, wet traction and gas mileage have all been better.

How are your MPGs doing after the change? I'm thinking of the same in SL load.

Call me crazy but I'm just not digging this whole 'sidewall tread' trend. It's just...messy.

I have these tires listed on my build sheet based on glowing reviews and a sweet A/T tread pattern...but now I'm thinking the sidewall design may be a bit too much.

Looking to buy a new set of Rims and tires. I noticed there are 2 versions of the Ridge Grapplers, the LT and LOAD XL. Any experience with the Load xl versions? For everyday driving with the occasional trail in the woods and the beach is there any reason to get the more expensive LT models?

Alright, my mpg (17-17.5, 50/50 city and hwy) are maintaining what they were relative to the tires i ran before (cooper at3 LT, 265x75x16).
