Saw this tire on a lifted '18 Tacoma at a new car dealer here in San Antonio and loved the look. I ordered a set for my truck and they'll be installed tomorrow along with some ride-height adjustable Bilstein 5100's. Now I'm freaking out a little - is this too much tire for the 2.5" lift the new Bilstein's are going to provide? Anybody else have these Nitto's? How do they compare to the BFG AT KO2 in road noise?

No I think you’ll be ok but I would be prepared for CMC

But wheel offset is going to determine a lot as well.

Are you maxing out the 5100 lift capablity? It may be a better plan to run OME coil with that much lift.

Thanks, Minmedic -- I'm going with the same wheel as the picture - a Fuel Beast 20x9. Mine will have a 1 OS - I'm not sure what offset the pic has. I think I would have preferred the look of the 20 OS but that might not be enough room in back.

Thanks -- I AM planning to run the OME coil and I was told that 2.5" maxes out the lift for the shock I'm getting.

That’s good. Which one? I’m running the 888 and it supposedly gives 2.75-3 based on what type of truck you have. But then UCAs become needed. Even at 2.5 it’s probably a good idea especially if your running large tires. Bringing alignment back to spec and positive caster can help clear the tires.

Thanks, TacoDude, I'm very glad to hear the tires are quiet (no pun intended). I'll be getting the same tire as pictured - 285/55R20's, so I think that works out to about 32.2"

Thanks again, MM. My shocks are gonna be the B8 5100's - is that what you're asking? I'm very very new to this and learning a TON from these forums, so I'm trying not to ask stupid questions that have already been answered a hundred times. About the UCA's -- that's one of the reasons I didn't want to go over 3" -- it seems like the general consensus here is that less than 3" doesn't require new UCA's. Do you disagree with that? While the shop has the truck apart tomorrow, should I have them throw on some better UCA's too? Also, in your first post, you said to be ready for CMC - I'm not sure what that means?

Spend enough time on here and you’ll learn a lot. I think you can probably wait and see if UCAS are needed and address later but you should at least know what a CMC is. It’s a Cab Mount Chop. The the front fender welll toward the rear of it there’s a part of the frame that tires like to rub on and it’s part of the frame work around the cab mount. You sometimes have to trim it back and weld a plate back to cover it for clearance. There’s a ton about it on here and people sell pre cut plates so it’s easy. Do some research on it and it’ll make sense. Just know it’s an option to help stop rubbing. I had to do mine.

Good news is this thread is actually going positive without the clowns coming in yelling "why you want 20" rims" blah blah blah. I don't like those guys

I'm excited to see what it looks like op!

I just like them. :) The downside for me is that the narrowest 20" rim in this style is 9". That limits my tire width a little if I want to go more narrow - I was thinking about going with 275/55R20's which ARE available from some manufacturers but this rim is at the wide limit for that tire.

I had 275 55r20 with a 20x10 rim on my taco with a 2.5" lift and I rubbed on my cab mount. Same when I trail with the 285s 17s so regardless that cmc needs to come
