I have the opportunity to snag four Nitto Terra Grapplers (the first model of them) new at discount tire for $150 each, and I may buy them. Anything that I need to watch out for compared to the G2? Any other recommendations in the price range? Was also looking at the Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus (not ATR) and have been really impressed. Thanks!

Look at the date code if you don’t drive many miles.

Good point, I'll make sure to ask before submitting the purchase. Nothing inherently wrong or outdated with the original Terra Graps?

The G1 were decent, functionally speaking. However they haven’t been manufactured since 2014 according to a simple google search. I’d pass. Idc if they are new, I’m not riding around on 11 year old rubber (best case scenario). YMMV

Wow, I was not aware of that. I would think Discount Tire wouldn't be able to sell a product that old, but I guess not.

Yeah I mean, if they’re actually “new” and the date code isn’t ancient then I say go for it. But I doubt they would tell you the date code over the phone (although maybe I’m wrong).

I had that iteration of those tires yeaaaars ago on my Ram 1500 and I liked them a lot.

The G1/2s suck in the rain imo. I’ve run both. This past year I went with the Pathfinder At which is Discounts house brand. They out perform the G in every way.
