I ask you fellas as its been a long time since I been to the tire store that wasn't Walmart .

Youngsters around here are telling me I want these Nitto tire for the new 17 , DCSB , 4x4 Tacoma .

LT265/75r16. in 8 ply . I live in rural Ok. lots of gravel roads that can get into terrible condition rainy season . Not a lot of snow but it does happen . Usually an ice storm or 2 per winter . I understand no tire works on ice .

I have read and you guys mention to keep an eye on the weight of the tire we buy . These from what I could find on line are 10 lbs. heavier than the Firestone Dest . tires on my truck now .

I don't go 4 wheeling so to speak but I like to launch my boat in places where there is no proper boat ramp and the road to these places can get nasty .

I just want a good all terrain tire that will stand up to rural areas . These good ones ? Wrong ones ?

Again , no rock climbing or crazy jumping the barn stuff going on , just want to get where I want to go within reason . Dare devil days are all done now .LOL

Am I on the right track with these tires ? 3/4 in. wider and 1 in. taller should be no problem . I figure I may take a small mpg hit , I can live with that .

I had them, well the 1st gens at least. I would say no due to lots of shaking even after balancing and rotating. I love my ko2s

I'm running the 265/70/17 gen2 AT's on mine and love them. No drop in mileage, reasonably quiet, don't sling rocks and are great in the rain
