Take some sand from wildwood and make their beaches shorter... The walk from the street to the waters edge feels like a mile

It's the jetty at the south end - the beach keeps growing. There's an old fishing pier that's been extended several times and no longer reaches the water. The ACOE should redistribute the sand to the northern beaches.

Give it another decade and ours will be covered by water as well.

NJ is rebuilding at flood stage heights that do not consider the water level is rising. In another 10 years if we get hit by a storm the same shit will happen that happened in Sandy. Our Governor doesn't believe in climate change and that the water levels are rising... I think he does, he just can't say it openly.

Just don't see how jersey beaches didn't get wiped out
Our beaches were wiped off the map
    Dunes erased
They ben pumping sand for almost 2 years and at high tide wAter is up to whats left of the dune system
Fing tree hugers don't want to rebuild the dune system that protects the mainland because small flat beach makes a good nesting area for the dam plover
They closed three out of the four breaches and left one open which is great
Now the bay gets a good flushing and already our oyster population is exploding
This used to be one of our main ways to make a living on long island

    What haven’t I changed?
The beach right by where I live was shortened considerably after Sandy. One of the restaurants on the boardwalk had a beach patio and the ocean was basically lapping at the bottom of the steps. Now that they've been dredging for months the beach is wider than when I first moved here 3 years ago.

Could it be because of how the tide was up near you when Sandy hit? Granted we get the same tides but it was at its PEAK when Sandy hit us... Didn't you guys get some crazy amount of like 20 feet of rise in the water over night which caused most of the damage? The jersey shore didn't get hit nearly as hard with the tides... Maybe 10 foot rise in the water level that I can remember that came into my moms backyard and shes on the bay and can see the barrier island from where she is
