I have a craftsman. For reversing it has my favorite design by far when I was shopping. The starter key has a four positions, in order; Off, Reverse, Run, Start. When you start the mower it returns to run like a normal car key would. After you start the blades you just have to turn the key back to reverse and you can reverse at will. I especially like this in combination with the foot pedal hydrostatic drive. I just push the pedal like a gas pedal, push it farther, go faster. If I want to go in reverse just press the floor pedal with the same foot. If you shut off the blades you just have to turn the key to Run and back to Reverse once you start up the blades again. It's second nature to me anymore, turn on blades, turn key to reverse.

What I'm looking to do is create an alternate switch for the seat safety. I have it rigged now so I don't have to be in the seat. But the reason I did is because I have a steep bank that I can mow if I slide my ass over to the high side of the tractor. Otherwise the rear wheels lose grip and the back end slides down the bank. I would like to still have the safety shutoff there in case I manage to flip a bitch. But with the seat safety I have to stay too centered on the seat and it's a pain. So what I want is an alternate switch I can hold in my hand while I'm doing the bank so if I do flip it or fall it will kill the mower when I let go.

 

September looong weekend camp/kayak trip in the making. My buddy Ant and his GF are down.

Just watched an idiot back right into a car behind me while in wendys drive through getting frostys for my warehouse guys. Guy in line was on the horn the whole time. Idiot punched in his drivers side door hard as hell. I got out of my truck and gave the guy who got hit my card and said I would be a witness. My question is who the hell backs up without looking?

 

Ofcourse I won't be able to come along whena the "kid friendly" meet you talked about a while back?
