No sarcasm intended, what did you paint yours with? My experience is steel rusts fast once you rub it rare

Sherwin Williams hd chem bond. His Shits rusting out from under. Mine has never done that. The scratches obviously rust.

 

I thought for a second that you posted a pic of my sliders since mine look about the same. Maybe I'll get them repowdered this summer from a reputable shop.

 

I bought a can of that shit I posted above, when I get iron gonna give the sliders a nice sand and hit them with that. I assume the welds just weren't cleaned

 

Whole thing should of been media blasted. Bet they don't.

Also should have used a tapemeasure when welding my old sliders so the legs weren't off by an inch but they don't

No need to take pics of everything I do. Just checked to see that they were the measurements they were supposed to be. And how does it defeat the point? Stock shackle on a shackle flip has more droop than the stock shackle in the stock inverted hanger.

I've been running spidertrax spacers for 80k + miles with no problems at all. I will be removing them now with the new wheels and tires, but I liked them. Just gotta know how to tighten shit.

That was an fj with all pro spacers that he put on the night before with no loctite and no impact or torque wrench

Did he do a good powder coat job on any of his work?

The more and more I hear about this company the more and more I think they completely suck. From a total lack of R&D before releasing bad products (LCA skids for example) all over TW to now finding out most of that crap also has horrible powder coating on it...

 

Personally I wouldn't powder sliders. The will get scratched and they will need to be touched up. So far and chips on my sliders was from the crap rustoleam topcoat but the POR underneath still looks gorgeous. As far as scratches go, I just hit them with POR and topcoat and it's good as new. I was never a fan of textured stuff till I saw what's on the bumper I got. I may try that as my next top coat when I run out of semi-gloss black.

Powdercoat on bumpers and sliders is fine. I'd rather only touch up the parts that get scratched rather than have to spray the whole thing

 

Our products are powder coated the same way any other product is. This is the first time I'm hearing about this. The powder we use might not be stable with salt no one has ever brought this up to me. We don't have any issues on the west coast with the powder or anywhere else for that matter. Am going to contact my powder supplier to see if there is a better option for the salt states.

And the LCA skid thing was isolated to 2 or three people and all on the east coast where you guys need momentum to get over things. When we got our new brake I made the adjustments to the file so they fit with more aftermarket IFS skids as well as brought the front tab closer to the LCA. Now when you guys plow into rocks with the front of your skid the bolts won't pop the heads off.

 

How would you need to spray the whole thing? You would touch it up just the same as powder.

The underside was even worse, rust down the entire length of the tube. Granted I'm sure the guy didn't stay on top of them but still. I'm not a big powder fan for anything that will likely get scratched often.

Hell mine are better than that at 6 years. Painted once with rustoleum primer and a few coats of hammered. Made by a crack head that tw almost lynched. Lol

 

Shouldn't look like that if you take care of them. Mine are around 3 years old and are in great shape. After I scrape them on something I wash them and hit the scratched area with krylon dual (paint & primer in one).

My front bumper on the other hand, I have to touch it up atleast once or twice a year as the paint starts to fade or rock chips/scratches.
