Welcome to the forum & welcome to the NJBS thread.

That's a nice kit. Skip the diff drop kit, not needed.

What are your plans with the truck? You should look into upper control arms as well.

Didn't you have the 5100's in the rear? How are you liking the new Icon's?

I did, after I blew them out is when I replaced them with the Icons. I like them and they seem to be holding up pretty good. I am hoping to get a set for the front soon.

I've had the B110 5100's in the rear since my silver truck and haven't had an issue with them since. I'll be upgrading them when I eventually figure out what I want to do in the rear. Most likely go with a 12" travel Icon or King.

Did you order Dakars yet?

Yeah, mine are 10" travel with the 12" shock body and the Dakars.

Between buying the new boat and dumping $2500 into fixing the wife's Yukon I had to throw them on the back burner for a bit. I am at least hoping to have them ordered buy the end of the summer.

Nice, Chux just ordered a set from OK4WD in north jersey, they had them in stock. Not sure if it would be cost you more in gas than it would to have them shipped to your door.

Colton has earned my business for sure. Good luck with your fly by night light salesman with 50 posts.

    X2

Yep. I'll have over a grand in lights on the front of my truck and stock headlights. Only time I get to use them is late at night. This is why I like road trips.

    Welcome!

If you need any help installing it when you get it let us know. We all get together and work on our trucks pretty often. Most of us have swapped out suspension parts more than a few times.

It's not $250 for everything. It's $250 for front and rear shocks. Still need coils and top plates, or use your stock coils and top hats but still need to remove and reassemble the coilovers. Then you need to address the rear lift too.

I guess I worded that wrong for him... To you itd make more sense... I guess... I meant 250 for the front and rear shocks is great... And itll cost you another what... 75 plus shipping for a wheelers 1.5 AAL... Still can't beat it... And he can re use the stock coils... Install would cost him a few beers and lending a hand really... As long as he came out for a mod day...

Question for you Josh... What are the chances that I can come over your place and we can use that drill you used for Davis's sliders for the bew holes I have to drill for the Beefed taco sliders? Ill just have to supply a drill bit or 5 and beer money... Since I can't stop and pick it up on the way

Isn't it the coils that provide the actual lift to begin with?

You can bump up the clip on the 5100s to preload the stock coils for lift.

Yeah fuck pre-loading shocks for lift. Why bother spending the money on nicer shocks just to not get the full performance out of them?

Finding a shop to swap the coils can be hard, and atleast $50 or so.
Yea we can install the sliders. I have the drill and a 1/2" drill bit. Don't worry about beer $ lol

How do you think any coil over provides lift? What do you think the threaded body and rings on remote resi shocks are for? Adjusting the preload to adjust the lift. If you have no preload you have no lift.
You're right that if you crank the preload or lift way up, you limit down travel, but that's how it works. Welcome to ifs. The idea is to find a happy medium where you have as much lift and ground clearance as you want, and still enough down travel to keep your ride comfortable.

Yes but wouldn't you need to crank stock springs much further than you would need to crank stiffer springs designed to provide lift? Thus reducing the down travel you would have vs getting a spring that works properly for the application? I am merely talking about cranking things to make them work not as they were intended.
