X2 I hate working in the rain.

    An update on the ford-

My roommate broke an extractor in the bolt. After breaking a few other tools he finally got the extractor out and managed to drill a 1/4" hole all the way through the broken bolt. It's not perfectly straight, and it's not centered in the bolt. We're unable to remove the remaining piece of bolt from the hole (from the massive amount of heat generated from driving around while the caliper was siezed I assume it's sort of welded in there.) But since the hole is only a hair off from the original hole we're hoping there will be enough play in the caliper holes to allow us to tap the new hole and bolt the caliper in place. Now the issue is that the new caliper is aftermarket and has metric bolts. Used a Mac tools tap and die set and it is a 8-1.25 thread which needs a 7mm drill bit before using the tap. My dad doesn't stock metric drill bits so we're hoping that another more inclusive tap and die set in his garage will have the correct drill bit as well as tap and everything else.

    Steve-
My roommate got the hub cap off or whatever it would be called. Where it would have the manual hub switch but this one just says "automatic locking hubs" and apparently we would need a ford specific tool to remove the axle nut. So rather than do all that to remove the rotor, we're hoping to get lucky enough to get the caliper bolted back on.

That sound like a good plan Josh. If it doesn't work and you need to dig deeper or he keeps the truck long enough to have to replace the rotors you can get the tool at the auto parts store for like $15-$25 dollars. It's called a spindle nut socket. Just make sure it's for a Dana 44

    Yep.

"Just an FYI for those of you who regularly participate in the Pine Barrens 4WD Clean-up....This year's event (#13 !) will take place at the NW portion of Brendan T. Byrne and at Whitesbog. Same Sunday as usual - October 26. The meeting place is the parking lot at Whitesbog at 10AM. The arrangements after the clean-up remain the same [IMG] Great door prizes....good wings....
If you wish, please bring a toy for the Toy Drive.
I hope to see familiar faces. Unfortunately, there's a lot of junk to clean up regardless where we focus our efforts"

Yea my nephews need some good lessons in that.

My sister is coddling and spoiling them into becoming NJ brotards. My mom told me today they were back talking her. I had her hand them the phone and I ripped into them. Little buggers need to be put in line.
