    I don't know guys, I am torn. I went to look at that pickup. It had a dead battery, so we put a battery in it. It fired up and eventually idled down nicely. The following is what I found to be wrong on site:
    - Hood hinges are seizing up. May need lube, may need replacing.
    - Exhaust disconnected at manifold / exhaust pipe.
    - Needs new tires.
    - Front passenger hard brake line is leaking.

    Stats as follows: Black 2003 Dodge Dakota SXT 4x4. 208k miles. Quad cab. He owes me a favor, so he offering it to me for $500. If I don't take it, he's planning on putting it up for $1,500. Do I buy it, fix it, keep it, and sell the current truck which is 13 years older. Do I buy it, fix it, and resell it. Or do I just stay away from it.

    Well you definitely don't get rid of the Toyota. So if you need a beater truck, take the dodge and set a limit of what you're willing to spend on it. If it becomes a problem, scrap value is close to $500

    Saw that, gasket is minor. Look at the intake cam at #3. That discoloration is blowby condensing on the cam. Valves are not seating. Fix the seal and sell it before failure. You'll be glad you did, when pistons slap the valves the lower get flattened and you need a complete rebuild.
