Sounds like a normally closed relay, then when it senses the headlights are on it opens and turns off the halos or whatever

 

Yea, please ask him. I am a bit of a history nerd as well. That's what will make this trip great too. My wife won't be there complaining about going to the stuff I enjoy.lol.

Anything in particular you would recommend? I like history, transportation museums, beer factories, farms, etc. Basically k love to learn and tour. Looks like I will be there starting around October 10th. Sadly it looks like I will just miss Oktoberfest.

X2. Picked up the stuff today from my warehouse to make my sleeping platform. Can't wait for this trip.

 

I'm all set - just decided to strip & repaint my sliders finally.

 

I need to do that -- the past two winters did a number on mine

 

same here. I took an 80 grit flap wheel on the angle grinder to them. took me a good 1/2 hour to get the worst of the corrosion off the drivers side. Still have to do the passenger side.

 

I repaint twice a year and it's always just as shitty. Annoying as hell since I paint with por 15. Tightened up all my skid bolts, checked all my fluids, cleaned out the cab, greased everything, ready to rock.

Also took the highlift off to lube it up, had the same weird issue where going down doesn't work as good as going up. I can force it down a little at a time but when it finally let go it dropped on the door and scratched the shit. Can be such a valuable but such a pain in the dick tool.

 

X3. I wore off the paint on the driverside from my short ass from climbing in and out of the truck.

 

My shitty powder coat is falling off everything. sliders and bumpers

 

Who did you have powder coat you bumpers? And my sliders I just rattle canned with Rustolum for easy touch ups.

 

Well this is disheartening to hear lol. Just painted my bumper and sliders in por 15 hoping it would hold up better than the spray paint I used previously. Couldn't even tell I had painted them.

 

After the last trip to Rausch I was a little disappointed with the POR 15, but it also could have been due to shitty prep work.

 

Then I had my brother in law take it to work an blast it which gave it a better texture for the paint to hold. I did the same with my sliders before I painted and installed them and the paint seams to hold up very well. And....

 

Some place in jersey, a lot of guys have had good luck with him but I think powder just hates me

 

I'm just using primer and rustolium auto enamel on everything now. It should hold up good to the elements and it's a lot easier to sand down and touch up for the rocks
