    What a week!!

    Finally, after spending a year of research and saving, I purchased a Toytec Boss lift kit. Did a bunch of research and had The 4x4 place in Lake Hopatcong do the install since I didn't have the time or equipment to do it. Had the install done this past weekend and all was going well until the end. While trying to adjust the alignment, the lower control arms bolts on both sides were seized! Local Toyota dealership to them didn't have the parts in stock and I was 2 hours away from home. He said it was safe to drive but both front tires were badly inward. Got about halfway home before stopping to see how everything was and the tires were down to the steel belts! I decided to just stop at the nearest Toyota dealership for safety reasons! Needless to say, Toyota was a joke and ended up making my life this past week a nightmare. Blah blah.. Lower control arms have to be replaced... Blah blah... None in stock because of frame recall.... Over a week to get aftermarket.... $2000!!...to do the work and parts!

    Almost lost my nuts, definitely lost a few years on my life this past week.

    So not happy but I guess life could be worse.

    Just venting... Thanks for listening.

    Oh damn. It seems seized LCA's are common problems on both 1st and 2nd gens. How was your experience with the 4x4 place? Sorry to hear you went through all that. A couple of us locals could have helped you install the lift too. If you asked and I missed it I'm sorry, I probably was dealing with maintenance woes myself lol.

    4x4 place was good but probably shouldn't have let me drive home like that. Could have turned out badly if a tire blew out!

    I wrote an email to Toyota about the issue and how it seems this is a common problem. I shouldn't have to pay $2000 to fix on a truck that is only 2 years old.

    Sucks to hear about the cams seized but good to hear You're finally lifted! Oh and you don't need to pay 2k to fix it the bushings are 45 from Toyota and the cam bolts are $15. Remember to use liberal amounts of anti seize on the cam
