Got 15 years for my truck, it's an 01 and was coated under the recall. If it rots through its a replacement. Just put a screw driver through it poking around as I was greasing the drive shaft.

I know it's a haul for you but my buddy works at toyota of newton and him and another guy have done a shit ton of frame swaps so I'd say there pretty experienced. And I personally know him so it might eliminate the "good enough" factor

I had mine replaced back in September at Toyota of York. Ive been having some strange electrical problems since. Not sure if it is something they did or just wear and tear. Other than that I'd say they did a pretty good job.

I haven't really looked into it yet. My driver side tail light doesn't always work and my brake light alternates with the left turn signal. Sometimes my headlight don't turn off when I open the door either. It has a mind of its own lately.

    Electrical gremlins !

As far as the tail light and turn signal, if you have a trailer harness, check and pull that to see if it solves a few problems.

Trailer harnesses and salt don't play well, has same kind of issues with my first harness.

It could very well be that. When I picked up the uhaul to come to CO the trailer plug had 2 broken wires so I had to go get another pigtail. The connection to the light looked ok though. Glad to be out of the salt though!

My step dad just dropped his 05 off at Shore Toyota in Mayslanding this past week. They ended up giving him a brand new Tundra and told him his truck should be done in 3 to 5 months.

That's what I'm saying, I was in shorts and a t shirt all weekend, not that I'm complaining! Fuck snow and winter lol

Time for a BPF back half tube buggy build. I'll have you back on the road in a few weeks at 1/4 of the price! :D

True. But missing out on a whole winter of wheeling will totally bum me out not to mention all the re-fabbin I gotta hit bpf up for. Ideally I'll cut the frame plates off the frame and maybe even cut the new xmember off some how.

Excuse for me to get plasma cutter is all :D

Depends on what sliders you get. The 4x sliders take longer since you have to set the angle and height and all. But typically I'd set aside around 3-4 hours.

Main thing would be to make sure you get a good coat of paint on there afterwards to keep that sum bish from rusting out. As far as the affect the weld has on the frame itself, the amount of heat you're adding is minimal so I usually switch between front and back of slider legs welding to give it a chance to cool off a bit.

How bad was the rust. I was allowed to drive mine until they had all the parts and it was ready to be worked on. I only had a 1.5" hole above the passenger tire.

Yeah mine is a minor hole as well. I would love it if that could be the case for me too cause tearing everything off in a single weekend would suck.
