Completely stuck from years of not being used. I bought the truck from the original owner who has not used it once since he bout it in 01. Here are some pics from the fiasco:

    Sheared bolts:

    Housing apart:

The arm with the gear on it would not turn. It was completely stuck. I got it free but I believe the worm gear is also stuck. Haven't had a chance to take it back off the truck and test.

why not just get a new actuator? me and anthony both had to replace our front diff actuators, way better than trying to refurbish an old one, especially one that looks like that

oh yea and had to do some cleaning.. as I was driving, my dad's black lab threw up all over the center console, seat, floor, my iPod, the carpet, my work shirt, lunch box.... so gross

yea a pretty easy thing to swap out too.. I'll definitely be ordering another set for trail spares. the driver side was a little soupy so I used hose clamps to keep a better seal.

I'm going to see David saturday morning for an alignment and to get my spare tire mounted. :D

Tomorrow I'll probably pull the skids so I can change the transmission and t case fluid.

I may take you up on the tie rods but I'm pretty sure that I'll get my Father in law to do the diff install...
It will run about $600 and I won't have to low a whole weekend.
I'd like to maybe get together for the compressor and leaf swap too?
    :notsure:

They are cheap and easy. There's a video on YouTube if you search how to swap tie rods on a Tacoma. It's low range off road, good video, shows you everything you need to know. Really easy though.

Moog from rock auto. There are a lot of choices so I just chose the moog ones for 4x4
I reused the old boots but checked them for cracks and cuts.

Well because he wasn't able to help me get some hose clamps I had to go to pepboys and on the way home my dads dog threw up in my truck. If I didn't have to go to pepboys she would've thrown up outside and it wouldn't matter.

So I blame him for why my truck smells like puke and why I had to spend an hour trying to clean it yesterday.
