Yes I was a mechanic for 6 years and I was originally against the whole snap on Mac thing until I got into it...there really is no better quality out there or convenience. The more weight you put in the drawers the better they slide. I've recently got out the the trade and like loosnut said..you don't need that box for weekend use only which is why I'm selling it....id rather see a starting mechanic use it the. It getting rusted in my garage...I can buy a craftsman or harbor freight box just to hold my tools and I need another quad that's only reason for sale....you guys know anybody who's looking for one I am negotiable and can deliver within north jersey thanks guys!!

Ps. Any 2wd regcab guys in this jersey thread?

My dad has been a MAC tools distributor for 35 years. I don't buy tools from him unless its something i really need, or unique/better than everything else out there. even at that i don't pay retail price. I typically use craftsman tools because I typically only use hand tools and a cordless impact. (Or i borrow his tools. Quite a few members in this thread have benefitted from borrowing his tools lol). If i was a mechanic, and a tool distributor came to my shop every week, and warrantied everything I own, and showed me new products and ways to make my job easier, I wouldn't hesitate to have a large tool box and an even larger credit card bill. :D

I agree that quality tools are crucial to a professional mechanic. I didn't mean my comment to sound like I was knocking the price. It was more a commentary about how long I've been out of the pro mechanic business than anything else.

I got by with Craftsman toolboxes but the drawer slides were pretty poor. I lubed 'em up to get better action. They're perfectly fine now that I don't open the drawers a couple of hundred times a day!

My truck, just like my previous car, was originally from Pennsylvania, so it has no front mount. Not sure what a NJ native truck has in the front, but mine is just screwed on with 4 screws into the plastic part below the chrome of the bumper.

Yea I got mine in Pennsylvania too. Much better deal than I was getting around me. Leaves me to figure out the front plate though.

I'm about used to having it screwed into the bumper. Scour Google and see if there are mounts that don't require screwing into the bumper. Perhaps some that are afixed with a heavy duty adhesive? I've never looked into it so I can't help you out here.

Either way, welcome to TW and make sure to enjoy the truck.

Haha. I am one serious infraction in the hole. I just want to follow the rules of the road and not get pulled over and never lose my driving privileges ever again!
