Took the puppy out for a decent hike today down in Wharton and then drove some trails for about an hour. Good time had by all

 

i thought they were closing down all the trails in wharton? at least thats what facebook has been telling me anyway.

 

Not all... Most... And they haven't done it yet

 

I think this is something that Facebook has blow wildly out of control and has been reorted improperly. Let me prefix this with one point, myself (this being the first time I've gone tho) and everyone in the club I've talked to that's gone down there multiple times, have only ever driven on roads clearly marked on Road maps and park maps. Roads with street names and accessible via your basic gps, so all these people claiming they're going to close these "trails" I think aren't talking about the roads. Because most of the roads are access roads for fire service and park service vehicles open to the public and they don't look like they've ever been abused by the usual Offroad shenanigans that would cause conservationists to be upset. But I could be wrong....basically what I'm saying is people are hearing 'trails will be closed' and assuming that means the trails they ride but it may not even effect them.

I'm pretty sure the whole trail closures thing got halted in its tracks. I went to a public meeting that NJDEP held to talk to the public and allow people to share there opinions/problems etc.. The original access plan that closed all of the trails was terminated shortly after they put it into place bc of the public's reaction, and they're currently working on a new one. I'm sure that some trails will be closed but based on the outrage from the public, i doubt it will be anything substantial. They will be upping the law enforcement out there though thats a guarantee

Just wanted to thank you again for the help this morning! And the sweet new dual antenna setup I now have! Ordered everything I need and it'll be here by the end of the week next week I hope so then I can tune it up and be ready to go!

Yes. Upgraded to a dual antenna set up as well as had to get a new mount because famous fab mount broke again...

 

Guess that's why they are out of business. #Notsofamousfab
