Probably one of the best all-around trail: it's got water, rocks, hill climbs, off-camber sections, and it's also right in the middle of a very pretty valley in Central Pa.

 

That all depends on the sound you want... If you want to sound like a growling elephant maybe @PSU Taco85 can tell you what exhaust he has... You can also look at the aero turbine exhaust... I have @Chux old exhaust I think its the 2025 model but not exactly sure. On my 4 banger it sounds great! For him and highway driving it was too loud at crusing speeds.

This is probably one of the greatest atmosphere forums out there...

All those things can be ordered yourself and installed by yourself with some help from us...

I happen to have a Thule roof rack that I am not openly selling thT id let go for 75 dollars. Its not in the greatest shape but it will work with your truck.

What are you looking to get from the 4x4 shop?

 

Nope. I just bought my Taco in November and have near zero 4x4 experience prior. I'm new to this myself.

Both of which I don't have haha. Perhaps eventually, but for now I will focus on passing emissions...
I'll have to stick to some real amateur trails when I start wheeling though.

Seems well rounded. I know squat about wheeling, but it sounds like a fun ass trail.

You'll learn quickly and really the more you go out, the more you will learn. When I first got my Tacoma I have never owned a 4WD truck (except my bronco that I had offroad once when I was 16 and quickly smashed into a rock ha) and I will not say I am the best but I have learned a fuck ton in the past 3 years. I have learned a ton about working on my truck (really first car I ever worked on aside from oil changes) and the moment I got hooked I was organizing trips every couple weeks to the pines and every couple months to Rausch Creek. Rausch Creek is truly a game changer when it comes to learning and I know when I finally get to Moab I will hopefully progress even more. It's great wheeling with people like Steve, Jay, Craig, Josh, Ant, Chris K, people who have been to Moab and Rausch countless times who I learned a ton from. It's less about having the right equipment and more about seat time above all else. Also a #NFG attitude helps a bit.

Eh, I guess since I'm not too handy, I would really just want someone to install the mods for me I suppose.

 

Or ask nicely and there's plenty of ppl willing to lend a hand...then you can learn how to do it for next time. Shops are many times over priced and the quality of the work can be over rated

Yeah you're right. You hold a valid point. We all gotta start from somewhere. Probably start with the off-road lights and your roof rack haha

 

These are by no means in great shape but they work. Ive had my kayak and fishing rods up there no problems. I only swapped racks cause @JLink sold me his racks

Just called them about installing my lift kit and apparently they are no longer installing customer supplied parts. Everything has to be supplied by the shop. hmmmmmmmm

 

That's fucking stupid.

 

That's what I thought...... I guess they are okay with losing customers & losing labor $$$$$

 

Every vehicle I've owned has been a learning experience for me. My previous car was where I really started trying work first hand. Oil changes, brakes, one strut (because I ruined it like an idiot), fuel pump, other smaller repairs, etc... and now I have will not only clearly have repairs with the truck, but there are things I want to do to it, which is a first for me.
Yeah I will definitely have to start wheeling if I want to learn. Sure, there are things I can pick up from reading/watching videos but it's trivial compared to firsthand experience. It seems only a matter of time before I go for my first time. And when I do, I hope I have experienced guys to give me advice. That's invaluable.
