What did you use to make the bends?

 

Pipe wrench

 

I cut it with an angle grinder about half way thru then used a pipe wrench and the tube from the high lift for extra leverage, then I have to weld the seams

 

Legit! Did you make the front wide enough to protect a little bit of your cam tabs? I didn't notice it until I put my skid on but the budbuilts protect the front cam tab atleast... Not sure about other skids.

 

what size hi lift do I need for 3" lift?

48 or 60"?

 

Doesn't that also get in the way of doing an alignment?

Depends on the scenario

I'm sure you'll be fine with a 48", but I got the 60" incase I'm stuck in some shitty scenario where the rear bumper is like 4 ft off the ground and I'm high centered on a mound of dirt or something.

 

Ill snap a pic later but it shouldn't... It sits about 2 inches in front or so but it just sticks out enough to protect it from shit.

 

Mine protects pretty good but I think would make an alignment a pain in the ass. I drop it for them as a courtesy.

Also 60 ftw. Mine is like 57" though had to chop a smidge to get it to fit across the bed.

@Sub-Zero when you guys were whisky bending did need to have one of you sit in the skid while someone bends? When ant and I did mine the table and skid wanted to fall over to try to get the bend done.

I did mine in a large bench too vice with the bench that attached to a wall, so I didn't have that problem. Idk how subzero did it. I wasn't able to get out and help him with it because of my work schedule

 

No most of them I could bend with one hand and push down on skid with other hand. I had like 4' of leverage tho with the hi lift pipe

 

They're right over the top of the side edges, skid is about as wide as can be right there

 

Most of it I did by myself so there was no one to sit,I thought about putting one side under the wheel of my truck

Lookin great guys, solid work. to see what the modified bumper looks like mounted up. Looks like it protects much more now.
