You know 4cylinder has a little different install than 6cylinder right?

Your buddy ant could answer some questions about that if you need to know more.

So I think that hard clunking was the end of the ADD actuator. Not that it was really working before. But for sure dead now. Symptoms are slightly different but more consistent now.

The 4WD button makes the t-case actuator function on and off every time now, even with the ADD still connected. But the ADD (and this 4X4) will not engage no matter what I do. Also the 4X4 lamp isn't randomly coming on when I turn the key over, regardless of how many times I turn it over. It will blink if I have t-case disconnected, as it should. ADD still doesn't sent it off when disconnected, but I'm not sure it's supposed to anyway.

Oh I also noticed my t-case actuator vent hose is all fucky. I used some electrical tape for now, and I think that's part of why it's actuating consistently, but I will be replacing it.

The current symptoms, and their consistency, make me even more sure it's the ADD actuator. But now I don't see it being fixable. I'll probably go ahead and buy either that one from CL or see what I can get from a guy I know.

Yeah I'm tempted. But I might be able to get a brand new one at dealer cost + 10%. So if the price is comparable, I'll go with the new one.

It might all be porkroll, but I only eat Taylor brand. Bought the biggest one shoprite had and had it for breakfast every day on our Wildwood vacation last week. T/E/C with a beer on the balcony overlooking the ocean is the way to start the day .

Id pick up the other one as a spare. Im about to start stocking up on spare parts... I atleast need spare CVs and a spare drive shaft for Moab. Maybe spare starter parts and other stuff like that too.

Advantage of 4 cyl is we don't need any extra parts. My safari snorkel came with a short Peice of 3" exhaust tubing. I cut it a little shorter, put a bead of silicone on it and just jammed it into the air bawks. Then hooked the rubber coupler from the end of the snorkel right to that. Done.

Yeah this is why I am still considering CL. Because I should be able to get other parts with it. Assuming nothing has changed, I should be able to get the 2001 ADD actuator, a 1996 front dif, and 2 NAPA CV axles. The extra parts are nice, especially the CVs. But it pretty strictly comes down to money for me. So I have to see.

Hmmm. Would you be willing to give a hand installing? Granted mojos will probably not come with the exhaust piece but I can stop at an exhaust shop and get that.

Or maybe just send lots of pictars and Ant and I can drill the holes and use your pics as a reference. Hes already offered to help when I asked him

Its $100 for all that? Dude those CVs alone are worth it. You are being stupid right now. Spend the $100 a mod under $200 is cheap. Thats the way I look at it.

If your getting it used then the snorkel and rubber coupler are already trimmed to fit through the hole in the inner fender so that's a time saver. That hole lines up with the intake of the air box because engine don't matter it's in the same spot. Then you just need a peice of 3" toob to fill the gap between the rubber coupler and the box. Only needs to be a few inches long. I think I got a peice that was 7-8"s long and trimmed it down to about 3-4". It's very straight forward. Once you get in there and see everything infront of you it will all make perfect sense

DOES ANYONE HAVE THE HOLESAW NEEDED TO DRILL?

Also where can I get a template paper in order to line everything up?

@The Hunter I had a holesaw but @V5ioV Rekt it. It's very doable with a dremel aswell.

I also have a template. I'd prefer to hold on to it but I can get some think poster paper and make a copy for you. When do you plan on doing the install?
