it won't flex more but the up travel would definitely be useful if you're somewhere other than level and the other tire is already up travel from flat. Idk if that makes sense but I personally would want as much suspension travel as possible, why limit it with bump stops if you're not at the max travel of the springs and shocks?

Here is my plan. Anyone with actual experience please chime in( that means not you Hunter). I am going to remove all the leaves my my Dakars and just use the top leaf and my factory block, which will give me the exact height if my new fully installed leaf pack. I am going to tack my upper shock mount in place, droop it out, taxk the lowers at max shock extension minus 1/2". Then Jack the rear up until I am at max compression minus 1/2" and set my bumos for that height. That will give me 11" of travel out of a 12" shock. That should set me up to keep from topping or bottoming out my shocks. Whether or not I ever actually acheive max droop or stuff with a full pack remains to be seen. Anything wrong with this plan?

Seems like extra work. I'm not super familiar with the bamf relocate but the top is pretty much "this is where it goes" correct? Then the axle mounts are where you adjust for your specific shock. Once you have your shackle flip done (not sure if you have or not) if you jack the truck up by the trailer hitch/ rear bumper that will get you full droop With a full pack. Then if you jack up one side at a time by the axle you should be able to get full compression. Maybe add some weight to the bed first if your running the add a leaf. That's how I set my shackle position and bumpstops up. I'm getting between 10.5"-10.75" out of my 11" shocks

The top is set height wise. Just have to position it forward/aft on the frame. Shackle flip will be done prior to setting shock tabs as the rear of the spring will be lower by about 3/4" at the shackle eye(which should only be 3/8" at the axle and slightly less at the shock mount). I can always use a ratchet strap around the axle and frame to get full compression if I can't get enough weight in the bed

@stairgod Yea that would work. Also keep in mind with your bumps not only are they there to keep your shocks from bottoming out but you also don't want your springs going too far into negative arch. I mean a little is okay and the dakars aren't the most arched to begin with but it might be a factor depending how the shocks end up. It might not matter either because your shocks are probably fairly long even collapsed. It's something your gonna have to get it all setup and see how it plays out.

He has to adjust the trans skid to fit the stock crossmember. This will require cutting some of the lip and re drilling a few holes.
Realistically, it could be done with a angle grinder and some patience.

I made an entire trans/transfercase skid in a few hours with a grinder drill and welder. How long can a little change take sonny boy?

I'm still not sure what the issue was in that spot, it was far from the hardest thing we did that day.

Loss of traction not enough down travel... shorter wheel base then your truck. Also trying to avoid the rock that wanted to touch my door really bad
