Had 600 miles when I took my sway bar off. It was the first truck I ever had that had one. I'm at
69,000 and never thought aboot putting it back on

 

Right on! Yea I'm thinking about keeping the same wheels for now. Budget is tight with all the armor I just bought. I also got me a cb radio . Shits getting real

Anyone know of a place with a lift and an air ratchet/impact and air. The auto hobby shop closed on base and trying to help my buddy lift his jeep. I have basic hand tools but not a floor jack, jack stands, etc. Thanks!

 

I would never try to take the sway off on stock coils/suspension, the thing will handle like a brick and be terrifying especially on a first gen with clapped out coils. I did it after I put in the front lift in because I knew the stiffer coils would offset the negative handling I would get. That being said though I can definitely feel more body roll on on and off ramps and that got even more noticeable when I went to the 35's. I can see why a rig like homer's would be better with the sway on, you are on 35's, have a cap, and have the tent on the cap occasionally. That's a ton of weight high up and even with an aftermarket suspension setup it can't negate all the added body roll.

We'll see how you like it @PPansini10 but I have a feeling you will want it back on (since your setup is similar to Craig's) especially if you do a bunch of highway driving with it.

Yea I had the average hesitatance to take mine off early on, once I did never looked back.

 

My truck does have alot of body roll but its not terrible... granted I drive slow now knowing if I turn to hard I could potentially flop... the tires actually stiffened up the ride more than the lift did! I think I need 885s soon though... especially if I get bumpers

 

If anyone is interested I may be cruising out to atsion ranger station today for just a dirt road ride. Gonna take the doors off today and cruise around

 

I'd describe mine as like driving a water ski boat.

 

With #700 pound coils it wallows a bit, but it is not too bad. Definitely feels better over rough roads and off road.

No plans to take off the sway bar. Helps it drive "just" like a sports car! In fact, I can't wait to do away with the worn out stock suspension so it's tighter and drives even more like a sports car.

 

Dude my taco drives nothing like a sports car. in fact, is a freeking cow slowww lol . have you checked under your hood? maybe you have a supercharger! lol

 

Yep that's exactly how I feel too.


And in my opinion, if you don't feel safe driving with the sway bar off, you're not a safe driver.

they attempted to get it done today and put into effect thursday under an "emergency vote" but it fell through because 3/4 of the senate didnt vote for it (only after a lot of pushback from the public). So now they are gonna try again on friday. hopefully it doesn't go through, its a ridiculous increase...
