Was maintaining my speed in the left lane of a road that the right lane merges into to become one lane. Was not going over the speed limit or anything, 2 troopers pull alongside me in the right lane didn't even notice they were troopers, they maintain my speed rather than speed up to merge ahead of me or slow down to merge behind (I had the right of way being in the left lane). They end up merging behind me just before the road becomes one lane and then follow me tailgating me extremely close and pull me over up the road. Accuses me of cutting him off and hassles me about my temporary tags since the vehicle was purchased in PA and I didn't have the inspection sticker yet but had the yellow card displayed. He then writes me 3 tickets 1) careless driving 2) improper signaling and improper/unreadable display of plate (4 points total). Didn't mention I was active duty until he asked where I had been coming from and I said base where I just left work. He didn't seem to care. I was polite, respectful, asked to reach for the glove box, etc. the whole time. Himself and his partner were far from the same to me, refused to listen to me, answer questions about the citations or give me the same courtesy I gave them.

Agreed I will admit fault when due, but this was not the case, I will agree I was confused about displaying my plates/temp tags being a new/non resident and fine I will take that ticket/citation, but the other two were bogus and simply because he felt the need in my opinion to make a point, etc. Like I said I respect officers and what they do, but moments like these cast a shadow and give reason to why many don't.

Thanks man. Congrats to your son, and from a current service member, he'll be fine with the ticket, don't sweat it, just tell him not to try and lie about it at MEPS indoc as some recruiters will tell you otherwise. Best of luck to him and thank him for the commitment to serve.

For whatever reason I can't tag anyone, but I just got some surf poles I'm not going to use. Not sure when you'll be in the area again. I've got trolling poles too but not sure you can use those. No reels..

Agreed. Like I said, fine cite me for the incorrect display of my plates, but careless driving and improper signaling when maintaining my lane/under the speed limit because you failed to merge and felt I should have let you go ahead of me because you're a cop (which I didn't even notice at the time), is ridiculous and an abuse of power and perfect example of the money grabbing/extortion ticket process/broken law enforcement system, coupled with the lack of courtesy, professionalism and respect that I gave to you that should have been reciprocated as a public servant, which I also am. Just frustrates the hell out of me.

Your assuming a lot bud in that response, why would I lie or fabricate a different story and post here on TW? I am a service member and understand you give respect, etc. I exhibited no attitude, asked to reach for the glove box to retrieve my documents, answered all questions, addressed with sir/officer and remained calm. And like I said I wasn't in the wrong, the tickets speak to this as they are all weird bogus/blanket type tickets (improper signal when I was in the same lane the whole time) and careless driving, like I said didn't speed, maintained my lane, etc. Perhaps he didn't like that I didn't slow down to let him merge ahead of me, fine, but I didn't commit a violation by doing so. Again, my biggest pet peeve was the lack of professionalism, respect and courtesy I received that I gave to them. Maybe your experiences differ, but I know plenty of people who have had similar ones with state troopers in the area as well as them trying to make an example of military members for some reason. I've sped, ran a red light, etc. before, no one is perfect, and will admit fault when due, this was far from the case. This topic is sort of like politics and likely wont be productive so will leave it at that, just voicing my frustration.

You would not believe the shit i see while driving police cars (during repairs) not looking at stop signs, bad inspections, illeagal parking, etc,i just shake my head, once in awhile i follow them just to make them sweat.I so wanna hit the lights for that OH SHIT MOMENT but our dash cams are connected to the lights. Me no wanna get fired.
ZACHMX your situation sounds like you may be getting the shaft.
2 troopers together sounds like the reason for you being pulled over.
Like i said earlier most of the ones i know are cool but put 2 of them together and you see a whole different person.
IDK you could fight it,its 50/50either they "i could of been to harsh" or they puff thier chest out and say FU.
Do you have any have anyone to reach out to?
The last time i got pulled over, speeding ticket i gave an Leo that i happen to know in that township.I streesed to him i dont care about the ticket i just dont need the points, cause i have a CDL.HE spoke to the ticketing officer, and said just show up on the date and he will talk to me.I did he said he would chang it to failure to opey traffic device.paid ticket and done.no points

My only dealings with the NJSP was going down the TPK near exit 5 I was doing 85 like everyone else. A civic blew by me and I was thinking "good, now I won't get stopped". Cruiser comes flying up behind me and I was thinking that civic is fucked. I got stopped. I've got a metal gold PBA family card but since I had a radar detector he said there's no way he's letting me off. I laughed, took the ticket, and moved on.

I was super respectful, polite, I'm a tiny pretty sad looking build/guy, far from aggressive looking or exhbit any type of attitude, he even asked where I was coming from and stated base from work, I wasn't in uniform as I had just left the gym afterwards. He asked if I was civilian I stated active duty and he didn't seem to care. When he came back with the citations I apologized for not understanding the rules for buying out of state and displaying my plates vs. temp tags but he wouldn't even let me finish my sentences. Again, I will admit fault when wrong, and again I RESPECT LEOS, I know plenty I understand how hard and dangerous their job is, but I didn't receive an ounce of professionalism, respect or courtesy during my traffic stop, which is sad because this was my first and likely only experience with LEOs here, I have a clean driving record and now have orders back to AZ.

Thanks man, it is what it is. Now not only am I frustrated about this situation but the unfair assumptions/judgement from Mush, seriously bud, but oh well. I have reached out to a lawyer, looked into going to court as well by myself and speaking with prosecutor as well. I will be investing in a dash cam though.
