Rear diff fluid change party! And diff breather party!!!

My rear diff fluid was brown with streaks of light brown. After a trip to Rausch without a breather

My understanding of diff breather problem and mod:

The original diff breather is a one way valve out. As the diff heats up, the pressure is relieved thru this valve. Upon cooling, there is no way to regain equilibrium thru the valve, so it is equalized thru the axle seals at either end, sucking in air and possibly water
To prevent this, a two way valve replaces the one way valve but now must be moved to a higher location.

    Is this everyone else's understanding?

Pretty much. Also it's moved just to get it up out of the potential water. It's a super straight forward procedure not sure why @The Hunter thinks there should be a diff breather specific maüd day:notsure:

From what I've read you don't replace the valve you just relocate a different version of the stock valve (one with a barbed end for the tubing)

I used a two way valve to prevent the pressure difference... Based on my understanding of the problem
