can the prinsu hold as much weight as the front runner?

I am sure it can, but is it rated like the the front runner?

Ive had easy 300+ lbs "static" on my front runner and not a single issue.

I do like how the prinsu has a lower profile.

I am considering one for my cap.

Yeah I've considered that. IIRC, people often pull the 3rd leaf? And/or the overload if they don't think they'll need it often/at all. I've read a lot of positive results.

The rear bumper certainly isn't light, but compared to the stock bumper, it's something like 30lbs more. Can't recall exactly. Though because of how far back it is, the force applied to the bed is definitely more than that. Hadn't considered the spare. Especially if I end up going up in tire size, that will only increase it. But still, I see guys running Dakars with bed racks and RTTs and loaded beds. I find it hard to imagine that my setup will weigh them down enough.
I wasn't planning on All-Pro Expos, I knew they'd be too stiff. I was looking at their Standard leaf pack, as those have a much lower spring rate. But they are certainly pricey. There is also those deavers on CL still for $400, but nothing is listed about their condition, not even pictures. Plus they don't give as much as I'd like. Though maybe AAL could address that, or just go with less lift overall. Still, OME is the best price, and pulling a leaf might work.
Yeah the front is really where I want to not skimp too much. I was considering King front and OME rear, but I don't know enough about how they match up. I don't mind waiting, but I don't wanna wait forever. It's pathetic how soft my springs across this truck are, and shocks aren't far behind.

Oh you're not on Dakars yet? I thought you were full OME already. idk how many miles you've got on your leafs then, but w/e it is, it's going to ride considerably different from a new leaf pack. Especially Dakars. Though if stock + AAL is rough, I can't imagine Dakars will be a huge step up. But other than that, how would you say your shocks and front springs compare to your stock ones, and how many miles were on them?

The more I read about leaf spring, and their ride qualities, the more I see overload mentioned as a possible reason for rough ride over bumps. And the way you word it certainly makes sense. Though my springs are way too soft for me to consider putting money into more leafs. It's not worth it. I'm just going to get a new leaf pack.

That's the bolt I told you I couldn't get off. Finally got it. Now my bed cap won't fly off on the highway.

Mike I was in the same predicament 2 yrs ago. I needed a new suspension and wanted a lil lift in the process. Same as you I had a limited income, so decided for the ome setup. As I had my mind set on that suspension, the group buy for foxes opened up so of course I had to jump on it. On the rear I went with the icon aal and believe it or not it was night and day difference. My suggestion is to go with what you feel you will use the truck for. I never thought I would off road my truck so I went with the aal. But now me and @Sub-Zero have been a talking about doing chevy springs on my truck this summer. Althought i do want to get flexy :D I don't want to pay all pros price for a pack.
I will have my new springs, aal and foxes for sale this summer if you are interested I can give you a good price Only 20k on the shocks

Dakars ride great... the rear is softer than the front when articulation is applied

But, Hunter, you have a ton of weight over your rear. I have a tube bumper, a spare tire, and an aluminum tool box. Substantially different load me vs you. If I had the weight you had, I wouldn't hesitate to go with Dakars.

Just so you know, he will take $350 for those deavers. I'm torn between dakars and the deavers now. I worry with my 80# 35" tire, my tube bumper, my co2 tank, and Jerry cans in the bed plus fully loaded for Moab will be just way too much for the deavers to handle. Considered getting the deavers and throwing a Chevy link in for more weight capacity but I'd basically be buying a used pack and needing to mod it vs buying brand new dakars.

Even without the Moab gear, you've got a decent amount of weight already. Once loaded, yeah I don't think Deavers will be feeling too happy. But an extra leaf should offset it quite a bit. But the cost of the used Deavers is already pretty much the cost of new Dakars. So yeah you'd be spending more on used parts than new. But it depends on how used the Deavers are and if their ride/flex is worth it over the stiffer Dakars.

You must be in the minority then. Most people seem to say the ride is rough unless loaded, and feels much better once some weight's on them.
