    yea, i dont haul much except for fishing gear or kayaks. i actually made my mount out of 1/8th inch steel. couple cuts and bends, painted it with bedliner paint. came out pretty good and is sturdy.

    This hood mount seems easier to run the wire anyway. My CB is mounted to my console so it'll be a clean install also.

    same here for the center console. any other spot inside to me is in the way, and i didnt want to do tearing up any panels incase i took it out later on down the road.

    haha yea, thats what i wanted to avoid. when i need it i just take the mic out of the console and close the lid, i wired the cb into the front 2 speakers of the radio.

    Yeah, I did that for a while, didn't like slamming the cord in the console thought.

    The only thing from Bay area metal fab id suggest to anyone is the cb mount. Its beefy... don't cheap out and buy the famous fab one because I had those... replaced them 4 times in a year

    You don't ever see the antennas in the mirrors... i have to really be looking close to the truck to see it

    I ran my tail light wiring through the hole. So there's nowhere to mount it now.
